There's just an unlimited level of creativity and possibility from using preexisting characters as basic templates to be used in a different direction than their mainstream counterparts. Hell, you can just switch out some of the basic elements between characters and you've got something new and interesting almost instantaneously

Green Lantern can be imbued with the powers of the emotional spectrum while Flash channels the speedforce through his ring. This totally depends on the writer/artist but I've noticed that fanfiction for Reverse!Falls tend to be Reverse!Pacifica/Reverse!Gideon, and on the bad guys' side Reverse!Pinecest (of course, seems to be the main reason many are drawn to the AU in the first place) or Reverse!Dipper/"Will" Cipher (or Reverse!Mabel/"Will" Cipher or all three together somehow).
I see a bit of Reverse!Dipper/Reverse!Pacifica and Reverse!Mabel/Reverse!Gideon sometimes though, it just seems somewhat less common nowadays.

Yep. They take Gideon's place, and run the Tent of Telepathy and a media empire, but are HELL of a lot more competent and scary than canon Gideon.
They tend to know a lot more about the occult/magic and be much more successful than Gideon, too.

It's not an AU where everyone has muscles, just the characters the discussion focused on, save Mabel. And even then, it's because the muscle path wound up being the best fit for Pacifica's character development.
The alternate branching path would be if we had gone with Shortstack Wendy instead of muscle Wendy. Pacifica would become jealous because she's completely top-heavy while Wendy has hips to match her bust. She'd then gain weight to try and get those hips (and Dipper's attention), and wind up a massively busty Plumpcifica. While this would provide a greater variety in body types, it lacks the character development angle as the added weight would make Pacifica bigger than Mabel, letting Pacifica have her cake and eat it too, literally and metaphorically.
