Do you think it might be easier to write with heroes who don't have such a strong following or public awareness? There won't be any prior assumptions or expectations.
Also the pulp style is unique from many of the comic book movies out now, it'd be different enough to be intriguing. Also hipsterfags can get behind the old style of it.
What are the actual best Shadow stuff to read? I've been a lifelong Bat fan but never checked him out. Does he have his rogues gallery and shit too? Gadgets and crazy vehicles?

To my knowledge, he doesn't have any gadgets. Just his guns and his ability to be unnoticeable (originally hypnotism but in the movie it's telepathy). And he also has a network of people that he relies on for help and info.

he did have some gadgets / weapons like a sniper rifle with a grenade attachment, explosive chemical substances sewed into the lining of his cape in case he got trapped somewhere and needed to blast his way out, suction cups to climb walls and a few vehicles like a car I'm sure was very fast for the time, an 'autogyro' and I think later a taxi cab that could change colors and license plates

there were no risks to take. Pulp magazines were made to fill magazine racks and airports. You wrote whatever the fuck you wanted, handed it to a publisher, took home your week's pay, and it was a done deal. There was barely any quality control because it required so little financial investment. No advertising, cheap as fuck paper, no gaging of market interest, it was a pump and dump industry for people who needed money
I'd like to see Crimson Avenger. Low tier enough that only 1 of her 3 fans would bitch about any changes done to her. Also adds more mystic elements to the DC world.

Dynsmitr had a oretty awesome run of Shaddow not to long ago.
I remember one arc he teams up with George Orwell during the Spanish Civil war.
And theres another arc where he battles a hoard of Jiang shi i New York China town.
Dynamite puts out some garbage but I liked that one a lot.

The Shadow movie is one of those cases where the direction and aesthetics are so gorgeous and the acting is so fun that I don't really care about the fact that the script is junk. Honestly even if the rest didn't work I'd give the movie a pass just because of based John Lone as the villain.
And the score is indeed rad.
