The Inquisitors are basically equal to Kanan, but overpower him in numbers, hence why there's two of them now.
Ahsoka is out of their league completely. She's the first time on the show we've seen someone who was a highly trained Jedi in their prime. Yeah, there's Vader, but so far we only saw him scaring off Kanan and Ezra, not actually fighting.

And if you gave them blasters AND rigged them with bombs, they would just trigger chain explosions when they get shot and do more damage to their own force. Making every unit of your force a suicide bomber doesn't make any sense. A specialized bombing droid would make sense, though. He wasn't the cause of the rebellion though. Vader was, he was trying to create a distraction the same way Palpatine did so that he could take over. And in the end they saw what appeared to be the last Jedi Knight in the galaxy give their life to protect them so of course they honored him in some way, they thought their light had at last gone out of the galaxy like Tarkin did. It fit, it was a tribute to the Jedi as well as Starkiller.

As with anything, it depends on the execution of the topic. Lords of the Sith had that lesbian that had more to her character than "I'm a lesbian." Wendig wants to show "look how progressive I am and how Star Wars can be!" with his gay characters, making that the majority of their character.
