Why is this allowed? Couldn't this be considered some sort of misleading advertising? I mean let's say I don't know the series at all, I am a comic virgin, I see the cover and I think "wow cool what a well-drawn character I really dig it" and I buy the issue. Then I start reading it and there is... this thing, with that face.

>abysmally ignorant casual/bait thread
Bravo, OP. Upvoted;^)
>>
>>77896590
Sorry, I don't understand this reply.
>>
>Why is this allowed?
The main reason is that Marvel is a business first. Every decision they make is done so with profit in mind. A large portion of the market who still buys monthly floppies is the collectors and speculators. They don't give a shit about the content of the books they buy. They pick up every #1, variant, and cover by a popular artist.

Wada's fashion illustration inspired covers are beautiful, but they don't translate well to interior work.

I like Pulido's style.
>>
>>77896632
Ok. But NONE of the series cover shows She-Hulk as she's actually drawn in the series.
It's not that there is a cover with the ugly\Frog version and one with the good-looking, well-drawn version. I know my English is not good but I hope I explained myself.
>>
>>77896617
You're a complete idiot, and/or just baiting for replies. That's how cover art has been since comics had decent printing. Cover art never matches interior art, and never intends to. (Unless the cover and interiors are actually done by the same artist)
Not knowing that is forgivable at first, but getting indignant about it is idiotic, ...or a meme.
>>
Isn't she like 40?
>>
>>77896673
No need to be rude. I just had a question and I thought someone here could help me understand.
>>
>>77896687
around thirty, according to Miles in All-New Avengers
>>
>>77896690
You had a question that you could have easily answered by flipping through like every other comic on the fucking shelf, and processed that there was an obvious pattern going on.
This is not some new phenomenon, or isolated practice in the comic industry.

She-hulk in DCCU when?
>>
>>77896767
Ah, my mistake
>>
that's why you check who the main artist is before buying a comic. using bait covers has been a common practice for a more than a decade i think
>>
>>77896767
FUCKING A

I didn't even notice before. Cho drew Miles as he draws Gwen on his fake covers.

Also, Shulkie's hurt face is so cute that I want to do nothing more than stroke her hair and tell her she's a beautiful almost 40 year old.

You didn't explain why that tradition came about, though, to help the OP. Instead you want to bash them, and assume they're bait.

Not who you're replying to, but to be fair this is at least the second time I've this thread posted.

DC cinematic universe boyo.
>>
>>77896830
Didn't know that. Will probably continue. I think it's a fair question to ask, newbies may be perplexed as to why the interior artist doesn't match the cover one.
>>
>Book covers have pictures
>not just excerpts from the book
>not just completely blank, with title and author listed
>Movie posters have art and graphic design
>not just actual images from the final footage
>false advertising
>why is this allowed
>>
>>77896873
Probably came about to save time, like most stuff the industry does like having a separate inker and colorist.
>>
>>77896870
but she's Marvel?
>>
>>77896818
Here you smartass: printing methods once upon a time could only accurately reproduce a limited level of detail. Interior and cover art was more or less equivalent. Good printing later became more common and affordable, so more artistic detail can be reproduced-- but then you have deadlines. You have the same deadlines for the interior art and the cover, which are often handled by completely different artists. So which do you think will get more polish and attention to detail: many pages of interior art, or a single image for the cover?

In response to your stupid ideas about "false advertising," why does anything else have cover art? Books, music, movies, etc? To look flashy, appealing, and maybe in an ideal situation express the narrative content of the media inside. Why would comics be different?
You would be throwing away great cover art on this "first time I've ever picked up a comic" fallacy that the cover art is "supposed to" be representing the interior art. That is what is so absurdly stupid about OP's post, that someone who passionately thinks that, new to comics or not, could ever be taken seriously.
>>
>>77896838
Might as well be, seeing how /co/ still falls for such bait.
>>
>>77896553
The boring but true answer is the covers for books and comics exist is to entice you pick them up. The publishers know that once you've got their product in your hot little hands there's a pretty good chance you are going to buy it. So they spend a lot more time and money of the covers than any single page of interior art.

It may seem a bit dishonest but it no different from any other kind of advertising.

I'm an idiot. Sorry. ;__;
>>
>>77896870
Who's the artist, anon? She looks qt as fuck.
>>
>>77896673
Most comics have the same artist for cover and the actual book, don't try to apply shitty cape standards to comics in general.
Besides you're just saying it's old, in no way does that say anything contradicting OP.
>>
>>77897114
>>77896870
I always liked it when artists depicted She Hulk as this docile, bookworm, girl who could rip a truck apart if need be. Now she's always drawn as a green Wonder Woman.
>>
>>77899460
Well I thought that whole point was people turn into like their power fantasy when hulking out and Jens was to go from a docile nerd to like irradiated bombshell.
>>
>>77899487
I remember her personality didn't change into a sexy bombshell she was still a shy nerd. In recent incarnations she's an extrovert slut sleeping with everybody. Also her physical appearance. Some artists refuse to give her a bulky muscular build but instead give her a aerobic fitness model body. I have the same gripe when people do that shit with Power Girl.
>>
>>77896838
/co/ has been more /v/ than /v/ for the past couple years now. This should have been obvious by the fact that the majority of /co/ are console war faggots that don't even read comics in the first place for any reason beyond bitching about SJWs and "shills."
>>
>>77899593
I think an overwhelming majority of /co/ never read a comic (comes here for movies/television/cartoons) or use to read comic but can't be assed to do so now, so they're stuck in a time warp (i.e. "Comic were so much better in the 90s"), and they can barely remember the shit they read.

I see the same thing in my japanese hentai. The cover is done by ShindoL but the actual pages aren't.

Javier Pulido needs to either learn to draw or be thrown in a fire.

I'm not picky.
>>
>>77896673
Most comics use the same artist for the cover as the interiors, unless you count variants. Have you ever read a comic before or do you just shitpost about them on 4chan?

If you're being paid to draw she-hulk, do a damn good she-hulk. Don't draw their eyes going in different directions every panel, jesus christ.

Cho for shit taste.

She could be 80 and I'd still hit dat.
>>
>>77896767
Is it strange that I like Miles in pretty much every comic he appears in except his main one?
>>
The cover artist is listed separately in the credits, if you're actually at a comic shop most of the time the sleeve isn't sealed so they'll let you open it up and flip through it so you'd find out. If you're online most retailers will also have the credits listed right here. It's not trickery, it's just a way that some artists get money. A cover from the big 2 pays $600+.

The only dangerous part for the consumer is maybe on trades since they are often still in the plastic wrap so you can't flip through to check.
