Megakat city has it own space program anon. The Enforcers also develop all kinds of crazy shit. The city is a nation unto itself. The only sign of life beyond is the foreign investors which are those Asian cats. The city is bordered by a mountain range with ancient Inca style ruins, a grassy plain, a huge desert, a swamp, and the ocean. They city also has medieval Europe style ruins near it.
It is truly a strange world.

they were using 50's second generation fighters, while the turbokat was a fourth generation jet retrofited with sixth generation gadget. The only modern thing it didn't have was more top notch optical sensors. Which it probably will have now, FLIR, IRST, AESA, you name it.

Yeah, I'd lean more towards AC for the fighter gameplay, though I've heard some say something similar to all range mode from Star Fox 64 could work on a larger scale. Debatable.

i see it as a necessity due to the whole vigilante aspect. The swat kats have to go around town putting out fires/dealing with situations coming up constantly, it would be far more fun if the game let you actually traverse the city on the way there so flying is always involved in some form.
some kind of dynamic monster/villain attack system that has them randomly pick targets and show up in intervals and either get captured or escape with only a few scripted missions and a main plot would be pretty fun and have tons of replay value. Like, it would be possible for all villains to strike at once or in rapid succession and cause a mayor SHTF moment and then parts of the game where you can actually relax and patrol the skies with no trouble in sight.
