Series finale of Archer its revealed the entire thing is a prequel to Frisky Dingo. Killface and his people land on earth and the archer cast fights them. They lose horribly and are abducted to Killface's planet. Frisky Dingo and Archer are revived as a crossover movie picking up after Frisky Dingo focusing entirely on Killface's planet.

here's how it works.. see.. the only thing most studios are interested in now is quick money. HOWEVER they're still jelly of something decades old that is still popular so they can milk that with less effort
it's the in-between they value the least: something that might be popular for like 5 years or so.. So basically, they give a show no chance, then in 10 years if people are STILL talking about it, it gets to come back
