So i don't know if i am the only one who is thinking this but, what if they are gearing up towards merging Earth-1 and Earth-2, or at least dragging in the immediate areas around the breaches to Earth-1?
This season is probably going to end up with team flash trying to close the breaches and if they do Grodd is stuck on Earth-2 unless he decides to conquer Earth-1 Central City for some reason.
This would also fix the limitations that were made when they started Arrow and add more possibility for more out there villains.

AoS can't do jackshit with comic characters exactly because the movies and tv shows are "connected." I vastly prefer DC's approach where you can use most obscure characters but everyone who's in a movie is largely embargoed. It allows you to highlight lesser characters.
