A Dr. Fate being from the Middle East would be kind of cool considering the cross roads for global religion that area is. There's a little bit of everything.

Egyptian Fate makes a lot of sense also because for a long while, Europeans (especially Greeks and Romans, but then also a plenty of more modern cultures) considered Egypt (and later Persia too I think? This is also true, up until the Starfire shitstorm of 11 /co/ didn't really care about this stuff and was actually more socially liberal, or at least not violently against threads talking about more of that stuff.
