How come dubstep didn't manage to invade cartoons like it did with anime and videogames?
>>
Because cartoons are two steps behind video games and anime
>>
>>77830473
Superior taste.
>>
If there were more action cartoons, it might have but these days, cartoons don't have OSTs or anything worth remembering musically unless its like a mini-series or something
>>
>>77830473
Jesus, he really looks nasty when you view him from up close.

Skrillex made a song for Wreck-It Ralph.

You're on the internet. Google it.

I just did. So, it's some kind of British Techno with lots of bass? Is it popular?
>>
>>77830473
Dubstep was a teen thing. Loads of anime and video for that demographic. Most cartoons are for kids or adults
>>
>>77830915
>Is it popular?
Not anymore. It was a meme genre.
>>
Not a lot of video games had proper dubstep.

Most video games have general electronica or a synthesized orchestra.

This guy needs to take a shower
>>
Dubstep tempo is too awkward for most media, what anime/vidya are you talking about?
>>
Dubstep invaded anime and videogames? I don't remember that, I remember shitty brostep invading both. Why didn't western cartoons make their OSTs filled with literal garbage? Dunno Tbhfam
>>
>>77831892
>I remember shitty brostep invading both
You know what he meant, no need to be pedantic

It's the scars and stubble. If my memory of the scene is right, he claims it's acne scarring while a couple theorists claim it's needle scars from hard partying. DJs aren't exactly good at presenting their best face.
>>
>>77830473
there was an anime with dubstep?
>>
>>77832428
That ain't pedantry. Brostep and dubstep are two distinct genres. it isn't pedantry to correct someone when they are mislabeling something.
>>
>>77830473
I only really remember hearing brostep in trailers for games.
>>
>>77833263

Looks more like acne scars.
>>
>>77833263
>needle scars from hard partying
What? How does that work? It's clearly acne scars.
>>
>>77833263

> be rich
> can't drop $200 to get rid of acne scars
>>
>>77833263
how did this asshole replace his entire head with a ceramic cartoon mouse
>>
>>77832428
It's an important distinction lad, half of brostep don't even use that 2-step beat style

This is dubstep

Dubstep was/is an evolution of UK Garage music. "Artists" like Skrillex took the genre and developed a singular focus one or two aspects of dubstep (often just the drop, but sometimes also focusing on sampling audio clips or creating new clips to use like samples). Many people call this style of dubstep "brostep" because it's the bottom of the barrel, no skill involved version of the genre.
>>
>>77833657
This dubstep was essentially darker UK Garage stuff, hence "dub" + "2 step" = dubstep

So it's like the /tv/ film/movie/flick meme
>>
>>77833770
I wouldn't know; I don't go to /tv/.
>>
>>77833657
I don't think it's a question of skill. it's just a different genre. An american offshoot. More mid-range as opposed to the much more bass and sub-bass sound of the original. Less atmospheric, more noisy. Brostep is lot more like heavy metal.
>>
>>77833770
No. Brostep and dubstep really are distinct things, separated by an ocean.
