Sequel series when?
>>
>>77817748
Korra ran the franchise into the ground. Maybe it'll get a reboot 20 years from now a la Hasbro franchises.
>>
>>77817805
Was Korra actually that badly received outside of /co/? I didn't watch it so I wouldn't know.
>>
>>77817816
Critics liked it well enough, but kids didn't watch it.
>>
>>77817816
Th rating were pretty poor. To the point that it got pulled out of tv halfway through Season 3 and everything else aired on the internet
>>
>>77817835
which is ironic because it was the only season that was on par with AtLA

>>77817816
tumblr praised it to the high heavens and LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ communities loved it simply because of muh representation. if you criticize it for anything legit like plot development etc, they will call "cis scum privilege!!!!" on you

Never, only comics forever

My main gripe with Korra is just the lack of a proper overall story. It also missed that mystical element of adventure that TLA provided.

>Sweeties 2: Lesbian Boogaloo

>>77817748
Hopefully never. Avatar had a pretty decent talent pool to draw from, and wasn't made on the heels of a wildly successful show for the sole purpose of milking college age kids and highschoolers on nostalgia that halfway through decided to hit up SJW's for a few of their hard-earned ad revenue dollars.

Avatar was nice. The comics kind of blow. Korra was a cool concept that fell flat because you know what we've have this fucking discussion ten times a goddamn day since the minute season 4 ended how about you just fucking quit talking to /co/ about avatar and korra in general. I mean, Jesus tittytapping Christ, we have this discussion every fucking day. I literally haven't been on /co/ and there NOT been an active korra/avatar thread that's just the same regurgitated conversations a million times. At least /a/ quits talking about Evangelion for a few hours at a time, good fucking grief.
>>
you're gonna get either Avatar Beyond or 'the adventures of some schmuck avatar we mentioned once'
>>
>>77817748
Never. The closest you'll get is fanfiction.
/co/ tried to to just that about a year ago. Cool concept, but nothing ultimately came from it.
>>
>>77817816
It was not badly received critically, it's just /pol/ and /tv/ assholes that like to think so. However, it suffered from not-so-great ratings, mainly due to Nickelodeon forcing the screenwriters into season-contained storyarcs and fucking around with airing dates.
>>
>>77818708
They could still have made the individual seasons good, and they didn't for the most part.
>>
>>77818725
1 and 3 were both pretty good.
>>
Never. Korra killed the franchise. Just let it die.
>>
>>77818725
It's a matter of taste of course, but I think the only objectively disappointing book was Spirit, due to a rushed production and an underdeveloped villain, and the second half was still good.
And books 3-4 were awesome, IMHO. Great villains, action and animation.
>>
>>77819030
>>77819073
Book 1 was pretty good but fucked up hard in a couple of places. Like Amons reveal, the probending and romance subplot.

Book 4 was pretty bad for the most part. Kuvira was a bad villain, the story was poorly handled subplots were irrelevant. All in all pretty bad.

Book 3 was the best season but it was still rushed towards the end and the main character never really got to shine.

But i think we can all agree that Book 2 wasn't good.

>sequel series when?
Ah I see so we're treating Korra like Darker Than Black S2 huh? I very much approve
>>
Clumsy creepy academic feminist and queer pandering will get you points on college campuses, tiny subsections net, and with loser bitches who'd drop all of that shit if chad or jamal unzipped their fly and said bend over or suck.
But it will not get you ratings, or shwag sales.

They exposed themselves finally as giant hacks and manipulative cunts who'd throw their entire franchise and fanbase under the bus to secure a paycheck.

Fucks sake, Look at the abject clusterfuck their universe is. How barely thought out and and half assed it is.

The series was always mediocre at best with the only bright spots being the hard work of that korean studio making all of their half baked nonsense work and nickelodeon throwing millions at them.
>>
>>77819141
Not true. The glorious Korean animation got further outsourced and mixed about because the showrunners needed to make more BigBux
>>
>>77819653
Dude, in case you didn't notice, the SERIOUS drop in quality from the first series screams that they lost the korean studio that did the majority of the work.
>>
Korra was plagued by its inability to stand up to tired and trite platitudes. It was true for Aang as well, but to less extent.
>>
>>77818677
No that's clearly the son of Jonas Venture.
>>
>>77819704
No, the writers lacked the ability to write good stories with those platitudes.
You see, that is a show for CHILDREN! Not media and porn jaded loser adults.
Good well constructed stories that tell those "trite platitudes" in ways that entertain and enlighten is how you create something that lasts.

They didn't have the talent to do it or the balls to try. So the ran with MUH FEMINISM nad MUH LESBIANS to sell the show and keep it on the air.
It failed.

How fire empire destroyed nomads when they are on other side of the map and deep down into earth lands?
>>
>>77818708
>mainly due to Nickelodeon forcing the screenwriters into season-contained storyarcs
that's not true at all. The writers decided on that.

> fucking around with airing dates
that doesn't really change much.
>>
>>77817816
They received really bad rates. About reception, only IGN and some other sites liked it because SJW. They literally didn't even talk about the flaws in the show; only talked about the ending.

>>77819030
1 was good until half/ending. 3 was retarded at the beginning and the middle.
>>
>>77819862
Their flaws are not lesbians, their flaws are the fact that their story does not support trite platitudes they promote. Well, I guess they are talentless.

ATLA had pacifism in the face of military aggression. Season 1 of Korra had equality. Season 4 had freedom. They didn't ask what those things mean and what price is to be paid. They just pedaled them relying on absurd plot development to weasel their way out.
>>
>>77819073
> the second half was still good
Stop posting.

>And books 3-4 were awesome, IMHO. Great villains, action and animation
Seriously, stop posting.
>>
>>77819988
...
So yeah, they lack the writing talent to write those simple platitudes or the balls to even try and used muh feminism/gurl powah and muh lesbians, to keep themselves on the air and get some heat/love from the academic feminist creeps and queer mafia.

You basically just said I was wrong while reiterating what I just said but chimed in only because of one part which you later agreed with.
>>
>>77820119
I don't really see how in the story they constructed pacifism and equality could ever be a good thing.
>>
>>77819030
1 started promising but threw any potential it had in the garbage near the end.
>>
>>77817748
I don't want any more sequels.Korra suffered from having too many characters, many of which were underdeveloped/unlikable. There were also pacing and story issues here and there that made Korra seem like a disjointed collection of different series. Despite this I would say Korra is a decent series overall. There are characters that I like and feel that Bryke is capable of producing an excellent setting (but with poor execution). Animation and music was also great.
Season 1
Started out great. Pacing got out of wack as it progressed and the Amon reveal sucked.
Season 2
Bad all around. Didn't like how the spirits became Miyazakimon. Wan was okay but lore wise I wasn't feeling it.
Season 3
Interesting villains. Better pacing. Still wouldn't put it up there with any season of ATLA though. The best season.
Season 4
Somewhat good season overall I guess. Went downhill in the final fight. It didn't feel like the end of the series at all. Peak of the season was Korra struggling on her own.

You know if Nick told Bryke you're getting four seasons at the begining, i'm sure they would have at least plotted it differently...not much better but at least it wouldn't have been self contained in each season.
>>
>>77821622
There's nothing wrong with self-contained seasons.

I know but it could have made the finale more worthwhile.
>>
>>77821815
It would have just made the inevitable terrible resolution all the more painful.
