Hey /co/ just got this from a kickstarter, figured there was no better place to read it for the first time than /co/.

How is everyone doing today?
>>77812674
so uh.. how much did you pay for it?
>>77812831
I believe I donated 10 bucks or so? The person made a compelling case to donate on Kickstarter. I am sure that there were better was to donate 10 bucks to comic creators on Kickstarter but their arguments were compelling.

Well, let's see if it was worth the investment then.
Is anyone else finding this art rather static?
>>77812926
Yes, and I can tell the artist is deliberately avoiding drawing environments, too. Which is a shame because the few that exterior shot of the rooftops is not that bad! Same with the stretching rack, I feel the artist might be under confident.
On the positive side, I am enjoying how they are trying to push the flat silhouettes. Its interesting for sure. I am along for this ride.
>>77812926
It all feels kind of amateur, every panel feels like a close zoom in. Faces don't seem to convey much, cloth folds are really bad.
I think there's a place for this kind of art style but they're not using it well, they'd need to zoom the fuck out and try to add a slight bit more detail. Maybe pick a less obnoxious font too.

Yeah the author is definitely not as sure of their ability to craft shapes as I think they should be. I do agree that the silhouettes are very striking and do a great deal of work to eliminate their problems with fine details. I think they should do it more. This page especially >>77813034 shows an inability to craft a proper face. I am also annoyed by the large and squiggly lettering which does a good job at creating a pen and parchment feel but it grows tiring swiftly
Funny, I was just reading Blake for the first time in a long time yesterday

I saw John Waters' Polyester on TCM last night. Still holds up.
Dan, you think you can storytime some Kerascoet later in December? Can't find anything in the archivest-thanks /r9k/...
>>77813220
Any excuse to story time Kerascoet is a good one! Though depression during the holidays seems a bit cliche. Still I'll do it for you love!
>>77813265
Thank you kindly, Dan.
I don't care what the others say about you, you're one righteous dude.
>>77813385
I wouldn't go that far but thank you.
I see what you mean about the lettering now we are more page in. They could have easily halved their page count and opened up panels by just using a smaller typeface. Or writing smaller. I can't really tell if it's handwriting or not.
Still enjoy the silhouette of the Flea's profile though.

Thanks for reading guys!
>>77814652
No need to thank us.
We just read other people's work on 4chan.

Thank you for story timing! It's always interesting to read new stuff and see new artists do comics. I am not super familiar with William Blake's poetry and only the vaguest knowledge of a couple of his prints from an old school project, but now I kind of want to check the poetry out.
Also, this is off topic, but I think you storytimed another comic recently but I cannot recall the author and title. It had a father traveling with his son to run away from something, and then the man made a deal with a devil to protect his son and became a giant. Do you recall that story and who it was by? I thought it would make a good Christmas present for my dad.

Three Shadows?
>>77815491
Sounds like Three Shadows
>>77812674
Thanks Dan!
