Speaking as a card-carrying cassfag, I was tentatively on board when she popped up in issue one, I really was. Her new costume looked pretty cool, she didn't speak, and they kind of tried to showcase her even if they did it in a clumsy way. I thought they were taking their first shaky steps and they'd improve as they picked up the pace.
They didn't. Everything after that has been just lazy and shitty. She's done nothing actually cool during the whole series so far, none of the crazy fuckoff stunts she was famous for. On top of that, she's been ball-and-chained with Harper Row, a character that nobody likes, and David Cain is either nonexistent or turned into a completely different character. This series is really not doing a service for me. The best I can hope for is that somebody better comes along later, ignores or retcons all of this, and does her right this time.

I've really enjoyed Gotham Academy because it's too often we get a book like that which gets to play with the gothic Batman setting. People like to compare it to "Hogwarts in Gotham" as an insult but it's probably one of its greatest strengthing in my opinion. I don't know why I could never get into We Are Robin.
