It's a miniseries that stands alone. I'm glad everything went back to normal. I'm normally as whiny about the status quo as you fuckers, but it didn't bother me for this. We got 8 funny episodes centered on one of the best characters and that's good enough for me.

It's using black-ness as a trait to make a character better or worse that is a problem. Marcy is now black for no other reason than because black = good somehow. Her heritage adds nothing but a checkmark in the progressive checklist.

There was never any evidence that Marceline would be white from the start, only people figuring that since white=default everyone would be white unless there was evidence to the contrary. If anything there was always more evidence against Marceline being white because of her VA (doesn't mean she will automatically be black but it gives support to her being some other shit).
