/co/ is not where comics and cartoons collide, it's where they either stay on their sides of the room or start shitposting about things on the other side they haven't read or watched, occasionally someone might have taste and recommend quality reading and viewing material but they're largely ignored for whatever's the hot thing at the time or has the largest fanbase.
It is not literally /co/ the cartoon, everything /co/ stands for as is is everything Kablam! wasn't. There might be some debate of whether /co/ used to be circa '07, but I'd say that was less a case of evidence for the argument and more just a period where there weren't enough users to really serve as an example. Once cartoon fanbases grew to cancerous proportion and comics devolved into unironic publisher fanboyismthanks to /v/ and /tv/ I didn't think they'd manage to do it and pull the wool over /co/'s eyes but enough newfags and persistent can get anything done on 4chan I guessand webcomic crowds began to put their collective rancid feet in the door any hope of anything good quickly died. Granted /co/ isn't as worse off as other boards like /tv/ but the fact remains don't ever compare any quality production with this imageboard.
