Can we have a thread about how absolutely superb this film is? I honestly believe it's one of the best animated films of all time. It's honestly one of my favorite overall films if not my absolute favorite. Everything in it just feels like an absolute labor of love.

>supporting propaganda that encourages belief in fairies and unicorns
Agreed OP, not even a Christian or even raised in a Christian household.
>>77788804
I'd also like to express my disgust, we should all support hawaiian shirt mcnuggets propaganda instead.
>>77786947
It's one of my favorites too.
The emotions in it are more real and powerful than any Disney movie.

>>77788860
It's literally perfect on every aspect I have to say. God damn the emotions are so fucking good, Moses feels like shit for everything he does and it doesn't feel forced, and you really feel for Ramses for being a constant fuck up.

>Liking movies that appeal to infants, regardless of age.
>There will never be a Dreamworks film series covering the Bible and other legends like the Odyssey and Mahabharata
The Kurukshetra War would make me cum buckets
>>77789228
God damn the soundtrack is so fucking good.
>>77788860
I don't know why every thread someone brings up Christianity. It's a Jewish film, which tells the story of a Jewish holiday that Christians don't bother with.

I SEND THE SCOURGE
I SEND THE SWORD
THUS SAITH MY LORD
It is bretty good. I'm more keen on the animation though, especially the scene where he tries to kill himself with the sandstorm. The way the sand piles up on his hairpiece is really cool.
>>77786947
>Tfw it's still not on bluray, most likely due to hatred towards religion nowadays.
Feels bad man.
>>77789344
Oh wow. I always thought it did have a blu ray release.
>>77790510
Nah, only DVD, and DVD is just a filming of the 35mm, so it's all grainy and dark, however I think that adds to the effect of the film, because the darks are darker, and it looks more "movie" like. Still though, it makes you wonder why the fuck Dreamworks is trying to forget this movie existed when it was so fantastic.
>>77790540
I have the streaming version on my computer, which is also apparently a filming of the 35mm, but it's in 1278x720 resolution. Not sure what the DVD's resolution is. Probably garbage if I had to make a guess.
>The Prince of Egypt was banned in two countries where the population is predominantly Muslim: the Maldives and Malaysia, on the grounds that the depiction in the media of Islamic prophets (which includes Moses) is forbidden in Islam. The Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs in the Maldives stated: "All prophets and messengers of God are revered in Islam, and therefore cannot be portrayed".[32][33] Following this ruling, the censor board banned the film in January 1999. In the same month, the Film Censorship Board in Malaysia banned the film, but did not provide a specific explanation. The board's secretary said that the censor body ruled the film was "insensitive for religious and moral reasons".[34]
Fucking kek.
>>77790696
to be honest, I do quite like the filming of the 35mm. As I said, it makes it look more grand and movie like. I mean, look at a lot of remasters for disney films. They look too crisp and clear and almost cheap looking.
>>77790761
Oh, I agree. It's done pretty well.
Also, don't believe the lie of Disney "remasters"
>>77790859
Something about dark film grain just makes it feel that much better.
>>77788804
You who I called anon, how could you have come to hate this movie so?IS A REPLY WHAT YOU WANTEEEED?!
Then let my ass be hardened, and never mind how high the bait may go, I will never let my opinion go!
Mfw I'm an Atheist and I still love this movie
>>77786947
>watching such a disgusting offensive movie
*spits on ground* You Right-Wing Christains and your idiotic faith in a evil religion disgusts me. Won't don't you chimps evolve?
>>77791957
>hurr le why even bother meme
The same could be said for all of creation. As soon as you say "if he's so omnipotent why doesn't he just put us all in heaven right now?" then you could just as well say "why did he bother create us at all?"
>>77791957
Literally look at the post above yours.
>DURR THE LORD OF THE RINGS SUCKS DWARFS ARENT REAL
I know this is bait, but goddamn.I like it for the Elohim-tier music.

I'd like to see animated Mahabharata
>>77792023
I bet you like the muppets, mr foxnews
>>77792064
A Mahabharata movie would cause thousands of seizures
Too much epic to handle
Which was better, Prince of Egypt, orJoseph; King of Dreams
I liked PoE a lot more.
>>77792572
King of Dreams was a good movie but it's nowhere near Prince of Egypt.
Funnily enough, the King of Dreams one was more accurate to the original story than Prince of Egypt was.
>>77792572
I remember Prince of Egypt I can't recall a single scene from King of Dreams
>>77792572
All I remember of king of dreams is the wacky dream scene where the cows are stone slabs and YOU KNOW BETTER THAN IIIIIIIIIII!
>>77791413
>Val Kilmer played both Moses and God
>When Moses heard God's voice, it was his own voice
Why *wouldn't* atheists like this movie?
There can be miracles

Bunch of Jewish anti-Egypt propaganda.
Fucking Zionists.

I'm listening. Let me have it.

EXODUS STAR, by Anon and Anon

HEY NOW, YOU'RE A RULER, GET THE JEWS IN GET PAID
AND ALL THE JEWS ARE DIRTY AND COLD
ONLY MOSES BREAKS THE MOLD

>>77791957
>people who don't understand metaphors, trying to look smart.
>>77792082
Isn't there like a 100+ hour animated series about the Gitas? Don't think it ever got localized to English tho.
Fuck off, it's not that good. You only worship it because it's forgotten by the general populace, fucking special snowflake faggots.
>>77788804
>it's okay to have deities in media
>hell, it's okay to base stories around historic-but-fallen belief systems
>but do one about something remotely based around the Judeo-Christian god and suddenly we've crossed a line
No, Anon, you're the problem.
>>77788804
Theres always one
>>77786947
Can we please talk about this film without talking about religion. The film was made as an adaptation of a epic story, not a christian propaganda. You don't get all this shit with other films based on religious stories fuck.
>>77795345
That said, Joseph: King of Dreams probably is more about the message than the story (since his entire character hinges on receiving a vision from God).
>>77789148
That is why exodous was shit.
Moses was a phucking sociopatth there.
>>77792073
>>77791957
Is this from the same guy that had that comic with the dad with a gun that hunted lesbians?
I thought that /co/ was too harsh with him, but goddam, he is trully a faggot, this is lame.
>>77795172
Or worst:
>I can't enjoy a movie, about a culture or religion that I am not part of.
>>77789250
>tfw we get a Bowdlerised CG version of the Epic Of Gilgamesh instead
