I'd like to think it's more like the turtle that was hanging out in the front lawn when I was a little kid. Mum brought it in before it made its way into the street and got hurt.
Now, being a little kid, I was ready for that turtle to do all sorts of cool turtle-y things, but it didn't. It hid in its shell. And you know, turtles are free to do that as they please.
So after sitting and waiting for it to come out for a while, I got the suggestion from mum to leave some lettuce out in the bin he was placed in.
