Watch the immigration trilogy.
>Goobacks
>The Last of the Meheecans

>>
You've never watched South Park? What country are you from? Whatever, my favorites from each season are:
1: Mecha-Streisand
2: Prehistoric Ice Man
3: Tweek Vs. Craig
4: Cartman Joins NAMBLA
5: Butters' Very Own Episode
6: Asspen
7: Krazy Kripples
8: Up the Down Steroid (This is pretty much the best season btw)
9: Free Willzyx
10: Make Love, Not Warcraft
11: The Imaginationland Trilogy
12: Pandemic 1 and 2
13: Fishsticks
14: The Coon Trilogy
15: You're Getting Old + Assburgers two-parter
16: I Should Have Never Gone Ziplining (This season has some very good episodes along with some lame ones)
17: Black Friday trilogy (This season was pretty weak too)
18: Handicar (This season wasn't great either, but the continuity was cool)
19: Tweek X Craig (This season is the show's best in years, the whole thing's had a great plotline running through it)
>>
Cancelled
Ladder to Heaven

Cartman Sucks
The Death of Eric Cartman

just watch every episode from this season.
>>
>>77757861
This

A few others would be Fun Times with Weapons, Casa Bonita, Cartmanland, and Black Friday trilogy

Season 19 as a whole is good, and has an arc, so if you're gonna watch that, start with Stunning and Brave.

I know this dude is doomed, but fuck i'd like it if he became a permanent cast member.

imagination land trilogy is my thing
>>
>>77757861
coon trilogy is one of the lowest points of the series
>>
I know this thread is supposed to be about the series' worst episodes, but I've been watching the whole thing front to back, currently on season 2, and I've concluded that Summer Sucks is the worst episode of the entire series. It feels like it was written by someone who doesn't understand South Park for what it really is at all (indeed, Matt and Trey hate season 2 because it had a lot of outside writers) and doesn't even have any actual jokes in it, and it uses pretty much every stereotypical old school South Park catchphrase/moment ("You go to hell! You go to hell and you die!", "Screw you guys, I'm going home!" TWICE, TWO Kenny deaths, Cartman calling someone "hippie", Chef singing a sexually charged soul song) in the most blatant ways possible, as if they were obligated to include them

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought he looked like him.
>>
16 replies and no Scott Tenorman Must Die? That episode is pretty much the start of modern South Park.

>Stanley's Cup

You're Getting Old
>>
>>77757779
How old are you? It's been on for 18 years, I honestly can't believe anybody hasn't seen an episode of south park at this point
>>
>>77762327

It's not syndicated to my knowledge, so unless someone actively chooses to stick around until it airs or seeks it out online, it's not unreasonable. I hadn't seen it until I was in college.
>>
>>77762359
It is syndicated. I've seen at least one network airing it in several states. They're toned down a bit, obviously.
>>
>>77762097
>modern South Park
There's really just a lot of eras of South Park
Seasons 1-3 are just kind of low-brow shock humor and half of the second season sucks ass because Matt and Trey let staff writers work on the scripts more
Seasons 4 and 5 are a sort of transition to the next stage, more clever than the earlier ones but not quite up to the full dark and satirical nature the show would reach at its peak
Seasons 6 through about 10 are South Park's golden age and contain the show's funniest episodes
Around season 10 or 11 they start going farther and farther with the whole topical thing, getting gorier and more cynical as well,
Around season 17 the show started trying too hard to be topical instead of just funny, with this problem getting really bad in season 18
Season 19 is its own thing, with the story arc being interesting but many of the cast being so out of character it feels like a completely different show
>>
>>77762359
It's syndicated in my area
>>
>>77762406
Seasons 1-3 are brilliant. That era had a charm of its own.

Seasons 2 specifically had this really fast-paced dialogue-concentrated style whose influence you can see in a lot of shows that came after like Perfect Hair Forever and Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

I think it's really unfair to just call it shock humor. Episodes like Prehistoric Ice Man and Spontaneous Combustion were fucking genius
>>
>>77762327
I had never seen an episode of South Park until I actively downloaded them all in 2006 because I was giving a speech on Trey Parker for school. I don't think I've ever seen an episode on TV because I don't have my country's version of cable.

I'd say it's a pretty easy show to miss, at least in some countries.
>>
>>77757861
No. I like it but it only works if you already know the kids well enough. And it doesn't work without the original Coon episode either.
>>
>>77762406
>but many of the cast being so out of character it feels like a completely different show
Who do you think is out of character? The only thing I can think of is Jimmy's journalistic integrity, when just last season he was shilling freemium games.
>>
>>77759371
>1: Mecha-Streisand
>2: Prehistoric Ice Man
>3: Tweek Vs. Craig
Ah Jesus, that shit taste.
>>
>>77764128
Him shilling the games was out of character, since there was an earlier episode that showed off his journalistic integrity specifically
>>
>>77762406
I'm not sure I agree with that autism anymore. There's a lot more that's the same in those "eras" than different.

>>77764128
That's not out of character though. He wasn't selling freemium via his newspaper (so it had nothing to do with journalism), and he was established as caring about journalistic integrity back in the Super Sexy Action News episode.
>>
>>77764050
>I had never seen an episode of South Park
>I was giving a speech on Trey Parker for school
How does that happen?
>>
>>77764205
>He wasn't selling freemium via his newspaper (so it had nothing to do with journalism)
That's a pretty sad attempt at justifying your shitty behaviour, Jimmy.

>>77764187
>Him shilling the games was out of character
Yeah that's a fair point.
>>
>>77764222
I had seen the movie a bunch of times, and had also seen Team America. I chose him essentially because I thought it would provide me with ample opportunity to get away with swearing in class.
>>
>>77761221
said no one ever.
>>
>>77764305
>That's a pretty sad attempt at justifying your shitty behaviour, Jimmy.
Nobody said it wasn't shitty, I said it had nothing to do with journalism. And Jimmy being a little shit isn't out of character (see: Special Olympics).
If you're going to be autistic, do it right.
>>
>>77764538
It seems to be a rather commonly held opinion on /co/. There's a whole group of people who dislike all 2 and 3-parters in South Park for unspecified reasons.
>>
>>77762406
>Around season 17 the show started trying too hard to be topical instead of just funny, with this problem getting really bad in season 18.

Yeah, no.
>>
>>77764564
Those are usually the same 3 people, anon.

Most people actually like Coon trilogy.
>>
>>77764602
I'm just saying that opinion exists, in what propotions is up to interpretation (which you're doing liberally).
>>
>>77764545
It's exactly the same shit though morally, regardless of whether he says it outloud or in a newspaper.

While I guess technically it's not journalism, it's still about getting money by lying about your intentions and manipulating people in to buying shit. You've got to have a pretty strange moral compass to be ok with doing one but finding the other completely abhorrent.

His behaviour in one of those episodes has to be out of character. Now that you mention Quest for Ratings, the Freemium one being out of character seems more likely.

Going back to my original point, that means I can't think of anyone who's acting out of character this season.
>>
>>77764131
>tweek vs craig
>bad
>>
>>77762406
>>77759371
Season 18 was a lot better than 17, though.

Season 17 was only good in the second half. Only episode in the first half I liked was Informative Murder Porn.

Only part I didn't like about 18 was the 2 part finale, and even then, it still had its moments.
>>
>>77764702
>It's exactly the same shit though morally, regardless of whether he says it outloud or in a newspaper.
It isn't though.
When you just say something to someone, you don't do it with much of a pre-conceived notion or obligation of being objective and truthful. The entire point of journalistic integrity is that your role is to be as objective and truthful as possible, and it's assumed that you are.
I don't give a shit if some journalist tells tale tells in his real life, I give a shit if he gives me tall tells about Syria in a supposedly accurate source of information.

Just look at it this way: in the freemium episode, he was a salesman, his job was to sell things, whether it meant being truthful or not. As a journalist his job is to be truthful. In both cases, he's doing his job at the best of his capacity.

>His behaviour in one of those episodes has to be out of character.
Not really, no. I understand /co/ loves to be picky with those things, but no.
>>
>>77764790
It's one bad joke dragged over an entire episode. It's like the AIDes episode except not funny.
>>
>>77764934
Pretty sure there was more to the episode than Mr Adler, mate.
>>
>>77764131
Mecha-Streisand was just so over-the-top, it was great. Especially with the blatant Robert Smith fanboyism, to the point that Jesus himself proclaims him to be "our savior". And there was Mecha-Streisand signing Sheila's autograph, and the live action footage in the driving section made me chuckle too, just because it looked so dumb and out of place.
Prehistoric Ice Man's premise alone--a guy from 1996 being treated like a primitive caveman--is a great example of South Park's classic comical exaggeration in action.
Tweek Vs. Craig has that part with Mr. Adler's wife that has me fucking dying with laughter harder every time.
>>
>>77765018
The actual Tweek vs. Craig part barely had jokes.
>>
penis
>>
>>77765171
There was also Kenny's home ec subplot.

So that's at least two jokes.
>>
>>77764050
>implying I give a fuck about countries other than my own

The Oculus Rift episode from last season is one of the best south parks ever and I don't see it get nearly enough praise. Watch that. It has a great script.
>>
>>77764131
>now woodland christmas critters
That was by far the best episode senpai
