The problem I had with it was the sloppy editing. It felt as if they didn't finished the script before production, and had to haphazardly use every bit of footage they animated to fill time, and not go over budget.

Small feet are seen as feminine. Big feet- especially oversized feet- are seen as sylized/comical.
And when it comes to animation, you usually get away with making the males more cartoony than the women because audiences tend to react more negatively to "not pretty" female characters than they do to "not pretty" male characters.
You also see it in games. Male options often run the gamut from sickly stick figures to hulking brutes, or even flat out aliens. Female character options tend much greater towards the "ideal" range of human body shapes.
Even when women are making the choices/in control.
