I like it. I think it's perfectly fair to play Batman as a comedy, especially in that particular era. It's a lot of fun. Also, Adam West was a genuinely pretty good Bruce Wayne, would have been interesting to see him play a serious version of the character.

The Movie was the best episode. Pretty much any episode with Riddler, Joker or Penguin is worth a watch.
Any episode where Yvonne Craig got tied up.
Vincent Price plays an egg-themed supervillain.

It's actually a show about Batman, not Gotham being a total shithole, and it doesn't treat him as Batgod either. He regularly fails to be perfect, he asks the police for their help most episodes, and he treats the whole thing as something that gives law enforcement an extra edge over organised crime and special criminal cases, rather than having a dolorous duty wherein he has to patrol in his militarised terror-car and beat up petty thugs.
Is it stupid? Yes. Is it fun? Yes. Is it more stupid than Nolbat never beating up any bent cops? No. Is it more stupid than a nuclear bomb being driven around a major city for 5 months non-stop? No, definitely not. It is less stupid than that. Plus, when Catwoman says she's in love with Westman, it's believable, and you can still see that she's crazy (as are all the other villains).
Just enjoy Batman for what it is, I say. No point dressing him up as deep social commentary when he's facile at best.

You guys remember the subplot in Batman Begins where that "Microwave Emitter" was stolen by the bad guys, and they intended to use it to vaporize the Gotham city water supply and destroy the city?
That was taken directly out of the 60s Batman movie. The special evaporator weapon that's stolen off the ship, and turns the city council into little piles of dust.
Watching the movie with West & Ward doing DVD commentary is the best; they know damn well the script was silly, and that's what made it fun.

In virtually every episode I've seen, Batman tells Gordon and O'Hara to back off and let him handle whatever villain of the week scheme there is. Heck, one time when he disappears, the two of them seem absolutely flabbergasted at the idea that they might have to do actual police work.

Hell yes, it is amazing. I actually like how Gotham is actually just a normal city barring the supervillains running rampant, rather than being a hellhole with 1800 curses placed in it. It's a great breather if you start to get sick of modern Batman. I also recommend the comics, they're just as insane.

One aspect I always found hilarious was no matter how much make up they put on Caesar Romero, you could ALWAYS see his moustache in close up shots.

Any episode with the Riddler, simply because they figure out every riddle instantly, making them useless.
It's great! Favourite episode: the one where the women take over the police force and nobody gets to solve crimes, because all the lines are busy with women sharing beauty tips.
