The problem with Amazing Spiderman 2 is that its too similar to Spiderman 3. Too many villains

ASM2 is an enjoyable Spidey flick that was hampered by the producers trying to make it a conspiracy movie when all it needed to be was a superhero flick. Oh, and the Gwen Stacy scene at the end was PERFECT and heartbreaking.

Maybe he would have been better if everything wasn't just a lead up to a Sinister Six movie, but as it was he was a pretty shit character who was trying to be sympathetic but just came off as stupid and crazy without enough time to get us to care about him being crazy.

I agree OP, Fox did a pretty great job in his part. Wether or not he stuck true to what Electro is in comics is debateable, but he played his character well. My question is, was Electro mentally challenged? He was obviously off, but it seemed to the point that he might have had a disability.

No one ever believed they were going to do a Sinister Six flick, like no one believed that Zemo and Strucker would be lasting villains in the MCU, or that Zemo would actually wear his mask from the comics. At this point, MCU is treating its heroes like recurring villains. Regarding villains in the MCU, they all suck save for Grant Ward and Loki, the latter whom they neutered into being an angry mama's boy. 1) Deviated too much from the comics.
2) The difference wasn't justified, it was just something else with the same name.
3) Really poor pacing.
4) Threw everything they could into one movie, from the biggest group of enemies to the biggest scene in Spider-man history without giving enough time to any of them.
5) Didn't look very good.
I was going to list a bunch of likes and dislikes but I realized I only liked two fucking things and hated everything else.
The first thing is Paul Giamatti's over the top performance. He's a crazy good actor and it was like he knew what an awful piece of shit he was in so he just went nuts.
The second thing is pic related. He even knew the fireman's names.
