Not just flashbacks but also how his actions had a big impact on others (wich we may even learn later in the story).
Came here just to see how hard /co/ was flipping out over this. I expected more "OMG WONDY NIPPLE" and comments about the attempt to reproduce SMS speak and less Blacks vs Cops but in general you didn't disappoint.

As for me I came in reading the comic with a "meh" attitude thinking it would suck. I mean it's been a while since I dived into a Frank Miller story, the last being Holy Terror, and holy shit was that bad. But the first issue of DK III Master Race was all too good in reintroducing the me back into the Dark Knight Returns universe I love all too much.
I'm glad that the comic reflects upon our modern world with approaches like relaying information via social networking, the current stance on cops and black youths, and touching upon police brutality. All handled greatly in my opinion to the point of wondering how much Azzarello really contributed to the story instead of letting Frank write it entirely.
Wonder Woman and Clark's child having significance is good in that Frank remembered that awkward fucking scene from DKSA and this was the pay off, I think?
