I am being bombarded with ads for the Canadian superman coins.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHDAnJaPDq4
I don't visit any other comic site besides /co/, so I am not sure what ad tracker/cookie google found to flag me for superman merchandise on every site I go to (especially youtube).
The coins are admittedly interesting and Superman was crated by a Canadian, but the whole thing is rather silly.
Looks neat.
Except price. Reminds me of SpongeBob when store owner offers him fake dollar at cost of real dollar.
Not gonna lie, I'm really trying to fight the fanboy in me to not buy this.

$20 coin for $20. It is legal currency so how could it sell for any less? It even has a picture of the queen on the back.
The superman gold coin ($75 coin) is worth over $1000 because of it's gold content. That one is unreasonably expensive but I really like the krypton letters on it.
Fun fact: Canada was the first country in the world to use color on coins.
American military contractors thought the first colored coins had nanomachine radio transmitters in them for spying on America (even though these were mass produced Canadian coins). It was rather amusing:

The print and color quality has really improved in recent years on Canada's colored coins. The old poppy coin looked like shit back in 2004.

Ah, so it's regular thing? I always figured it's something silly Westerners do to rip off customers.

Some countries do that. America has a lot of really shady "patriot coins" that are sold where they lose half their worth upfront. Glen beck and fox news in general used to push those aggressively. They were very good at ripping off senior citizens.
Canada's $20 coin really is just a $20 coin, it just happens to have superman on it. It's value can never be less than $20 as it is still legal currency.

You learn something new every day.
Visited their site, bunch of comic-related coins.

Do they still have batman coins? I thought those sold out fast.

Yeah, sold out. All 7500 pieces.
/co/ related is Superman and Looney Tunes, from what I can see.
