Gravity Falls is more action and mistery based.
This. Starts out as a parody on mecha/super sentai with cute animals and evil skeletons, and then, by the time season 4 starts, the heroes have already expirienced death, spoken to God, seen the beginning of the Universe and the destruction of space Illuminati. Thematically episodes range from dangers of fastfood, stalking, mental torture, occult secret societies and "The Army of Darkness" references with Bruce Campbell as a guest star. And then there is the villain's fucked up backstory.
Too bad the show never got finished and ends on a damn cliffhanger.
