Also my critic was in how the world works.
It's magic and they kinda just do it. No stamina, no spiritual force, no limit use.
They say PALAVRUS LATINUS and it works. Although they never explain how one do invent a spell in first place, at same time they keep jumping on how the magic works. It is the wand, the prophecy, the blood, the school house, the family, the race, the prophecy all together.
That flaw is vital in a book about...well, magic.

Yeah, but they can only do "Good Neighbor" stuff. So if Superman turns evil they could probably safe you from him, but they won't help you defeat a good Superman.
Can we take into account that Superman can't fight worth a shit? He pretty much just rushes people with speed or flight and throws haymakers. Which is why Batman can judo his ass all around despite having zero powers. So someone with a good amount of super strength and fighting know how can best him for most of the fight.

Gandalf the Grey yes, Gandalf the White it would be easy. As for the latter, even without the ring, Sauron is an extremely powerful angel-thing.
LOTR was never meant for power level comparisons and it shows. Hell Tolkien probably hates us all for even thinking about it. But those characters exist in a weird kind of loop where they are the most powerful being in their universe. Being powers of the world and all.

Hell there's a ton of video game characters that can beat Supes.
I love how so many people are assuming that these characters know what kryptonite is. Please, there are people on this planet that don't know what kryptonite is. >>77669357

...the variation of strength in wands isn't truly introduced until book 7. There is never a massive plot about the wands, save for the linkage between Harry and Voldemort's wands... which was said to be the rarest of exceptions.
Also, it's pretty clear to anyone with even the slightest bit of insight that blood purity is a wizarding version of racism. It doesn't change magic levels at all, and never was shown to actually matter (just like race, which is a human construct).
Harry is never once saved by his pure heart. He is simply saved by having a heart. It was just the fact that Harry was feeling emotions that it saved him in Book 5... and that is honestly the only time his "heart" let him win the day.
Seriously, none of the stuff you mentioned even happens in the first two books (and even then, barely happens). Where are you getting off talking about anything?

Any old magic isn't going to bring Superman to his knees it has to be fairly strong. Sora's "magic" doesn't even reach destructive levels like FF high tier magic. Even Harry Potter would have to pull out some forbid potent shit to really fuck Superman up.

Literally any wizard who can learn two whole words and say them in succession should be able to end Supes, it's their kill-all and supes doesn't outright negate magic so it would presumably work as easily as it would on anything. The series was written pretty shitty though since the cloak he got in the first book literally keeps death from being able to find you and that wasn't brought up until the very end of the series.

Not if Supes just destroys the weapon. If he sees Barret or Vincent's gun he's not going to just let it hit him. He would disable that first before they could use magic. Materia is fragile. Meanwhile the other magic users can just use it unless Supes physically disables their bodies. So it depends on what FF character is fighting against Supes.
Kazuya on the other hand is literally a demon god depending on what version of SMT you consider canon as well as Demi-fiend.

No, but I study human genetics. Never even posted on tumblr (but then again, who cares)
There is no actual biological basis for race. While there are some phenotype patterns that might point to it, there is nothing distinct.
Rather, humans are simply excellent at seeing divisions that aren't there, or patterns that don't exist.
For example, you can tell an average human to look for distinct shapes on a screen (leading them to believe there will be a hidden pattern). Then show them completely random static. They will point out and be able to trace distinct shapes that exist no where else but in their mind.
Humans are just really good at creating divisions, but that also helps us spot patterns and find cause/effect.

>Any Pratchett wizard could do it too
Most Pratchett wizards are fucking morons besides The Librarian, Munstrum and Ponders. Librarian could probably do it with all the crazy books he has, Ponders could probably use Hex to science magic up some Kryptonite, and we never really got a grasp of Munstrum's actual power level but he is the strongest on the Disc so it's probably really high.
Superman is literally warm-up

There is not cut and dry accepted biological definition for race. It's a social construct. For example... the two girls shown have the same parents. If you saw them on the street, there is no way you would guess they both belong to the same lineage.

Magic isn't super effective towards him, but he doesn't have any special defences against it.
Think of it like this: a fireball will do fuck all to Supes because his HP is through the roof, but a save-or-die spell will in most cases wreck him.

You make it sound like a scrub tier wizard shooting a fire ball will 1 hit k/o supes.
Magic =/= Kryptonite
The dude once was unaffected by magical transmutation that fucked up WW, Flash, GL, a New God and a fucking Angel of Heaven. AT THE SAME TIME.
Superman walked through the fucking magic spell shit and btfo'd the evil magic guy.

Okay, but on the other hand, Superman has been cut by magic playing cards before.
Generally, magic fucks him up, and he has no defense against it. Occasionally a writer will have Supes power through it by force of will, but these are exceptions, not the rule.
Primordial, Lovecraftian entity that eats universes. Also adding Freddy Krueger.

>Primordial, Lovecraftian entity that eats universes.
What? Like Mandrakk? I wonder who beat him?
/lit/ here
Anasurimbor Kellhus.
In addition to being a highly skilled manipulator, he possesses an unparalleled grasp of the Gnosis, an ancient form of incredibly powerful magic once wielded by the forerunners of humanity.
How strong is Superman's sanity?
Can he thwart the mother of all plans?
Can he resist horrible mutation?
Can he resist warp fuckery?
Chaos is my main bet.
>>77684849
The other Monitors? Who transferred his consciousness into the Superman Thought Robot they created? Give him that and you might as well just have Superman pray to The Turtle, instead of to the Monitors, which is what the preteens who beat It had to do.

>supes is pretty damn nerfed all around
Injustice Supes is, if anything, massively overpowered. Injustice Supes took out the entire Green Lantern Corp, when canonical GLC would just send Sodam Yat, with or without the ring, to easily trounce him. He took Hal's ring, even though Hal's fought against gods, and somehow managed to one shot Shazam, who canonically beat him on Earth Prime and knocked the shit out of him in Kingdom Come. They act like Wonder Woman's the only one who could take him, when Flash has speed blitzed him and mentioned in the main universe that he could knock him out with a dozen infinite mass punches before he could blink or completely strip him of his kinetic energy. Nevermind the bullshit with him somehow killing Lobo.
>>77684919
Figured I'd elaborate a little more.
Kelhus is from a group of highly secluded monks called the Dunyain who have spent the last 3000 or so years selectively breeding and training themselves to be physically and mentally perfect, operating on a philosophy that some unknown force is the source of all thought and action. In order to attain true enlightenment, they must surpass the "darkness that comes before" in order to be fully self motivated and in control of their own minds and bodies.
Kelhus, as an end result of this process, has been trained in all manners of combat as well as in the structure and anatomy of the human body, able to read faces and actions well enough to essentially read minds at a glance. This makes him deadly in both combat and conversation.
The first trilogy of books featuring him have him in exile from his monastery, searching for his father who has sent for him. In order to find his father, he embeds himself within a budding holy war where he convinces most of the army that he is a prophet, indeed he is God made flesh.

>The other Monitors? Who transferred his consciousness into the Superman Thought Robot they created?
I said Superman, not thought robot. Mandrakk showed up at the end of final crisis, too.
>implying superman didn't prep a plan that involved creating an army to stop him
>giving batman a pass on prep, but not superman
it doesn't matter how he won, he still did. Sure in a one on one in an indestructible box made of plotanium, he'd lose, but why would supes ever put himself in that situation?

Only Superman Blue can defeat Goku
>>77685030
kek
>>77685030
I thought the whole Goku v Superman thing had been settled twice over.
Goku has limits. His entire schtick is pushing past those limits and winning, but unfortunately Superman is a being who is literally limitless. There is nothing for Goku to work towards because Superman will always surpass that next level.
>>77670363
> pardo
> not biker, evan or jake
>>77685061
>but unfortunately Superman is a being who is literally limitless
This was such a half assed handwave. Superman's been beaten before; the only issue being debated is whether Goku could do the same.
>>77685061
Yeah, it's been settled.
Still baffles me that angry gokufags entirely missed the point they were making.
They literally called Superman a badly written mary sue whose superpower is beating literally anything that's against him.
Both deathbattles, particularly the second one, was heavily pro-Goku.
>>77685061
naw, different version of Superman have different limiters, however the newest version of Goku has an ability where he can't be hurt by beings that aren't also gods.
However Superman Blue is practically designed to defeat Goku in all his forms, you can't really punch him cuz he's made of energy, he absorbs all energy and has the ability to fight deities so even Super Saiyan God Goku won't be able to match him.
>>77685061
this
all the threads and whowouldwins and vs matches almost always neglect to take into account the purpose of the characters they involve.
..and superman's purpose is to be the strongest. To always win and save us.
Feats don't matter because he is always able to surpass what he has done previously.
I'll be honest, I don't think Superman could take the Eldrazi titans or Phyrexia.
He'd make pretty much everyone else in modern Magic lore his bitch though. Planeswalkers aren't what they used to be.
>>77685120
>..and superman's purpose is to be the strongest. To always win and save us.
Superman was created as being about as strong as Spider-Man, without the ability to fly and no precognition. And since then he's bounced around in strength, from being way below Goku's tier in the DCAU, injurable with electricity and human weapons, to being a gag character in the Silver Age, to his modern incarnation, which is most comparable to Goku. And unlike Superman, who's nothing in comparison to guys like Lucifer and The Spectre, Goku, by the end of Z, really was the most powerful being in the universe, far, far stronger than even its various gods.
>>77685211
>Superman was created as being about as strong as Spider-Man
I was talking about IN UNIVERSE, as the image implies, dumb ass.
>>77685221
Superman isn't even in the DCU's top 50.

>>77685226
>completely missing the point of my post this hard

>>77685226
Put Superman in a canon setting where he has to fight the top 50 to save mankind and I will guarantee you he would win.
That's how Superman works.
Going out on a limb and proposing Alex Mercer/James Heller.
Only people shown to be capable of putting them down for good have been each other.
inb4 Pariah,Pariah is James Heller's daughter anyway. For some reason. Prototype 2 is weird.
>>77685256
That's every character in the DCU. If Batman had to fight Darkseid to save mankind, Batman would win through equal plot armor.
>>77685264
Superman's beaten stronger.
>>77685279
I'm aware, but assuming this is a fight to the death Blacklight can't be killed.
It even developed an immunity to the chemical compound specifically created to kill it after a while.
>>77685276
Exactly. That's the point everyone's making.
Superman's plot armor is so impenetrable that he cannot be beaten. That's why he doesn't belong in "who would win" debates.
>>77685276
batman already tried. Darkseid survived. It only weakened him. The flash then made death run darkseid through. He still didn't die.
Wonderwoman then removed him from all his hosts. He still didn't die.
It tooks Superman singing on some perfect multiversal resonance to finally kill him.
>>77685290
Superman would just stuff him in a star or something.
>>77675369
It is never suggested that any one wand is inherently "better" than another with the exception of the elder wand. The only thing that's mentioned is that using a wand that isn't yours will impair your performance, with the severity of the issues depending on whether or not you won the borrowed wand properly or not.
>>77685295
This is why I don't think we will ever see Flash in a Deathbattle.
Only character I can think of competing with him is an awakened Accelerator, but even then Speed Force would probably edge out.

Didn't dozens of Supermen try this in Crisis On Infinite Earths and lose? And Hal Jordan, as Parallax, took out Superman with one punch.
