You'll also notice these lifestyles don't promote getting heavily invested with the government, becoming authority figures for large groups of people, and being diplomatic representatives at every opportunity. For what it's worth, those same EU comics explicitly state that it's an open secret in the Order by the end of the war, they just don't know about the marriage part. Obi-Wan mentions it when he's about to go hunting after Ventress and goes straight to Naboo to speak with Anakin. Anakin doesn't understand how Obi-Wan found him, and Ben literally says "every apprentice in the Temple knows where you spend your spare time".
