Nothing's different, they've always been rather elitist about things. The plan was simple enough, in theory.
Taiyang and Qrow would walk into the convenience store, browse for a bit, and come to the counter with as many snacks as they could carry.
At this point, Qrow would text Raven to let her know to begin Stage Two: Retrieval.
Raven, now back in their dorm room at Beacon, would be able to open a portal in the store for quick transfer of the goods.
While Retrieval was ongoing, Taiyang and Qrow would draw out the transaction for as long as needed to distract the cashier.
Once Raven had pilfered as much liquor as she wanted, the boys would buy whatever they actually wanted and bail.
If everything went smoothly, they would have one hell of a weekend and everyone would be none the wiser.
In theory.
In practice, there turned out to be one variable that Taiyang and Raven hadn't fully accounted for.Summer Rose.

Here's a short outline I have so far. Nothing detailed written.
Start new game
>Wake up in a city, and realize you're no longer in front of your computer reading smut. After a quick look around, you recognize Vale, and wonder if you're dreaming, high, or really fell into the world of Remnant (there's oddly very little clipping)
From here, you pick between a couple options:
>Ask for directions at the nearby "Dust till Dawn": There, you have a chance encounter with Ruby, who happens to be reading up on weapon specs. This would set you on a track to joining Beacon, and possibly associating with that group.
>Alternatively, there could be other options (that I haven't thought of) that could have you follow Emerald or Mercury back to their hide-out.
Alternatively I could ditch the "anon dumped in Remnant" idea, and have the hero be a random resident of the world.
