Fuck off with your unwanted OP images
>>77649314
>Two OC do not steal characters in the OP
Why couldn't it be real characters like Ahsoka and Hera?
I hate to say it, but the guy complaining that Red Feet was gonna set a bad precedent was right.
>>77649314
Is that Bailey Jay? I'll take it.
Anyone else own this?
>>77649443
The guy complaining about red feet made it clearly he's perfectly okay with things he finds sexy. Feet is bad, but a pair of huge tits is totally fine. He's a hypocrite of the highest order and no he is not right.
>>77649481
I had something similar, but it was like... the size up? but still made by micro machines?
>>77649495
That's why I hate saying it. He was a dumbass, but his one singular point about bad precedents was right.
The whole "feet are gross, boobs are normal" shit was retarded beyond belief thing. That said, I don't really get the whole foot fetish thing. But that's okay.

Fuck off
>>77649529
Not really, since his concern was more fetishes he doesn't like being posted.
Honestly, it's not a big deal. The OP never determines the course of the thread and if you don't like it, just ignore it. Who cares? It doesn't really matter in the slightest.
>>77649481
>>77649505
>>77649538
I had this one.
How about some Star Wars parodies?
>>77649600
Oh yeah, I was just thinking about my army guys. I really need to find some gaming club in my neck of the woods...
Also, anyone else have one of these?
Why is everyone so obsessed with Mara Jade? I only know her from the Thrawn trilogy and although I generally liked her personality, I thought her backstory made her a huge Mary Sue.
>>77649505
I never had micro machines. Are they fun?

>>77649778
Not really.

They were bloody awesome, basically they were tiny vehicles which came with some fantastic playsets. They did licensed stuff like Star Wars and Star Trek and even Terminator.

>>77649700
I don't understand. How is she any more of a mary sue than Luke is?
>maz is han's mentor
>>77649772
I loved Action Fleet so much
It's a shame it died after Hasbro bought Galoob and then tried to keep Action Fleet going but completely failed to understand the appeal and then cancelled it because "if our bad attempt at it isn't selling it must be the concept that doesn't work!"
>>77649911
What did they do?
>>77648132
This is stupid, it's like saying that you can stuff Usain Bolt's blood into me and make me a champion runner
>>77649939
They gave up the line in 2006.
THEN ALONG CAME THE FORCE AWAKENS AND THEY BROUGHT MICRO MACHINES BACKIt's hit and miss, the vehicles are aright but the playsets are pretty bad.
>>77649761
Most of all her being "the Emperor's right hand". That was Vader's position and I perceived that as an unnecessary retcon to give her a reason to despise Luke while also establishing her as some kind of a special snowflake. I have nothing against revenge (sub)plots or "tragic" characters, but I didn't find her reasons and her backstory convincing at all. I also didn't like that no one told her off for her hostile behaviour.
>>77649939
Basically they sold them as models. They'd come with stands but no figures, which defeated the purpose. Some of the ones Hasbro produced still had opening cockpits but it was bizarre that they kept the feature but never included any pilots or soldiers along with them.
They also made a Solar Sailer that had zero interactivity options and it sold horribly. Hasbro didn't get that not including any figures defeated the concept and rather than learn from their mistake, they decided that people just don't want Action Fleet and axed the line.
Hasbro makes this mistake very often.
>>77650029
They also like making bizarre sub-lines that appeal to no one, which they cancel after one year but won't ever admit that they sold poorly or even explain why they're being discontinued because that would force them to acknowledge that they sold poorly.
Fighter Pods, Angry Birds and Command are the most recent ones.
>>77649314
well done OP
>>77650129
You can at least say that Fighter Pods finished with a pretty expansive range of characters. Not my thing but they were sort of cute and if you decided to collect them you could probably build a decent collection.
Also those admittedly nifty X-Struct kits or whatever they were called. They had figures and you built ramshod looking vehicles out of a shared pool of parts. I think I saw those in a store one time.
>>77650223
>Also those admittedly nifty X-Struct kits or whatever they were called. They had figures and you built ramshod looking vehicles out of a shared pool of parts. I think I saw those in a store one time.
Those actually never made it to stores. Hasbro cancelled that without explanation.
>>77650223
>Also those admittedly nifty X-Struct kits or whatever they were called. They had figures and you built ramshod looking vehicles out of a shared pool of parts. I think I saw those in a store one time.
Those erector-like things got cancelled. You probably saw Mash-Ups and thought that was it, since they're basically the same concept just with figures instead of ships.
>>77649443
No you shouldn't hate to say it, once your general is known as a general that has fetishes in it, whether they're right or wrong, you get the stigma of a bad one that has nothing but footfags, or whatever, in it.
That scares away some people that just want to have normal conversations and brings in those that would rather just bring nothing new to a thread and just make it a fetish general.
>ITT If your thread looks like trash, you're gonna attract trash.

Motti is kill
Just finished Rebels season 1, thought it was great. I wasn't sure about space Aladdin at first but he's grown on me. Chopper is a little shit, I love him. Vader and Ahsoka appearing in the last episode was awesome. What can I expect from season 2? No spoilers please.
>>77651558
>What can I expect from season 2
What did you like about Season One?
>>77651558
Disappointment. S2 is, so far, inferior to S1, the last two episodes were quite underwhelming.
>>77651558
It's alright, but it's a little slow so far since it's just starting. Naturally people are already complaining that the show is ruined because it had two dull episodes.
>>77651558
season 2 has been split so far.
the visual quality has improved immensely, but the story has been really inconsistent.
Some episodes are amazing, while others are downright terrible and cliche. The biggest problem is how self contained every episode is.
For anyone curious about the development of the Jedi uniform:
http://boards.theforce.net/threads/the-jedi-clothing-hairstyle-thread.50006663/
As you can see, Obi-Wan was at one point to wear a sort of Tatooine disguise early before Lucas decided he would wear the Jedi robe throughout the film.

The OT feel of some of it, especially the empire stuff.
The camaraderie of the crew.
Chopper and Zeb.
Kanan's relationship with Aladdin and his own doubts as a teacher.
Space fights looked good.
Tarkin.
I liked how lightsaber a weren't overly used.
Things I didn't like:
Not a huge amount of backstory for the
Main characters.
Series felt really short (15 eps?)
Kallus looked like he might be a threat at first but turned out to be a jobber.
Not a lot of backstory for the Inquisitor.
I wanted to see more Jedi training and More of Aladdin learning about the force.
>>77651803

>>77651860
>Not a huge amount of backstory for the main characters.
S2 is having and will continue to have some minor backstory episodes for the main crew.
>Series felt really short (15 eps?)
S2 will have more episodes; the traditional low-20s number.
>Kallus looked like he might be a threat at first but turned out to be a jobber.
This hasn't changedyet.
>Not a lot of backstory for the Inquisitor.
He's supposedly going to be fleshed out this season a bit.
>I wanted to see more Jedi training and more of Aladdin learning about the force.
Not sure if this was promised for this season, but I would assume it'll happen.
>>77651860
Second Season is longer, it now will have over 20 episodes, maybe more.
> I wanted to see more Jedi training and More of Aladdin learning about the force.
It's touched up upon bit more in Season 2
>Kallus looked like he might be a threat at first but turned out to be a jobber.
Then you're really not going to like him now.
Going by what you like, you might enjoy Season 2. But
So I finally watched the episodes of TCW where Palpatine gets control of the banks since I skipped them the first time I watched the show. After this I just need to read Dark Disciple and I'll have watched/read everything from the Clone Wars era. I like how when you look at where those episodes take place they're around the end of the war so you could tell the Confederates were running out of money in the months afterwards until they went full 'fuck it' mode and attacked Coruscant in Episode 3. I'm not sure if that's what their intentions are but either way that's pretty cool.
It also got me thinking. I know in the EU the reason why everything was shit technology wise during the Imperial era was because everyone was poor, but I think they're doing something similar with the new canon. For example what the banking clan was doing (taking all the money and giving it to a select few) might have been foreshadowing to Palpatine taking tons of money for himself. Then in the Lando comics we know he did take an interest in Sith artifacts that were probably expensive as fuck so it's likely that he used tons of money from the banks for himself, and tons of it for the Death Stars. It could also be the reason why they had to enslave races too since they didn't have the money to pay workers. Also I imagine the public was fine with this because they felt as if they didn't need an amazing army now that the Clone Wars were over and simply didn't care that technology wasn't as great as it used to be. However the Rebellion getting as huge as it did probably ended up leading more and more people to be concerned over the Empire not having enough money for it's forces leading them (specifically politicians and companies who don't think with freedom or their hearts in mind) to eventually join the Rebellion (specifically during Episode 4 where they not only wasted tons of Imperial money, but arguably officially kickstarted the Galactic Civil War).
>>77650845
It probably helps that he doesn't seem to be doing any of the super advanced twirls and shit, just basic swings, like Luke. Also it seems that they must train storm troopers to use melee weapons in the First Order.

Question:
Is "Force Sensitive" even part of canon now?
If we go by the movies (not even talking midichlorians), there is no greater difference between someone like Luke, and someone like Han, than someone who has a gifted body for martial arts/"gets" math, and someone who doesn't.
I don't think there's anymore canon sources remaining that would claim that you either can or can't use the force. It's just how easy it is. You know, "The Force Is Strong With This One", instead of "The Force is With This One".
>>77653665
Watch the Jar-Jar/Mace TCW episodes. Everyone has a little bit of Force inside them, some more than others. But there is a base-level you need to be able to actually use the force.
I want to marry Maladi
>>77653743

>If we go by the movies (not even talking midichlorians), there is no greater difference between someone like Luke, and someone like Han, than someone who has a gifted body for martial arts/"gets" math, and someone who doesn't.
Well.
I don't see the difference. How is being able to use the Force different than being naturally stronger than somebody else?
It's not that unlikely that some alien species just don't have the prerequisites to be force sensitive or use the force, like a penguin is unable to fly. Doesn't invalidate his existence though. Penguins can do other cool stuff.
>>77653743
Are you a sub?
>>77653886
No, breaking tough women into submissiveness is my thing
>>77653785
Well, what I mean is, is that if you go by what Yoda explains in Empire, then the Force is very much in use by everyone. It is part of living.
Infact, "Luck" doesn't exist, yet Han Solo is a scoundrel. Someone who effectively dances on the knife's edge, and claims he's lucky.
Even if not in a controlled, disciplined way, wouldn't that imply Han is "using the Force"? He's in tune with who he is, and with his surroundings. He's always on his feet. Isn't that part of what Yoda explains to be the Force? Sure, he lacks the discipline of mind, to have greater control over the force, and anything he has is very small and instinctual, but it's there.
That's kind of how I see Yoda's explanation. It takes a Jedi to master the Force, but everyone has it, and uses it to some degree, because they wouldn't even be alive otherwise.
>>77654027
>Isn't that part of what Yoda explains to be the Force?
Not really, no.
He gives a speech saying we are living in an animistic world and there is more to it that you can see with your bare eyes or something along those lines.
If you think of the Force, like it is explained as 'life force' it is inherently inside of every living thing 'permeated' by it as he put it. Doesn't mean everybody has the power to influence their life force.
Kind of like how some monks are able to channel their chi. That stuff is empirically measurable. But nobody know what the hell is actually going on.
Also there's a quite huge difference between being able to peek behind realities curtain enough to be able to lift a x-wing from a swamp and having what looks like sheer dumb luck from time to time.
>>77653886
>not being a sub
Why do people do this?
>>77654288
Are you asking why the world isn't 100% populated by subs? I imagine it'd get boring with no doms to rule over us.
i found it! i finally found it! scans of the latest Rebels UK Magazine comic, almost a month late! now if only someone can get Inbrief online, we'll be all caught up!
i bring you, Aresko and Grint's (probably) last story
>>77654474
Finally, been waiting for this. Let's see how Aresko fucks this up.
>>77654513
>Meeting in a supply closet
That's happened countless times, most likely.
>>77650008
>the Emperor's right hand
No. Stop. There. You have no idea of what you are talking about.
She was not the Emperor's Right Hand.
She was his Hand amongst many basically one of many force users he sent to do wet work that Vader would consider too demeaning. Essentially a corps of low tier mauls and ventresses. So she was neither special nor unique. Just the only one of a few who didn't go crazy or sith or insane.
>>77654027
Well the original name for the Force was the Will. It's will personified, the spiritual or mental aspect, and when combined with the physical aspect of everything being part of the same whole, evolved into the general idea of the Force. I think that in his youth George assumed everyone could use the Force because he believed that achieving greatness is only a matter of learning, and that anyone can rise to the occasion. But as he got older I think he probably decided that, no, when you step back and look at life in literary terms only some people ever exert the will to do great things, and those people generally don't live ordinary lives. So when you bring destiny into the equation it doesn't matter whether everyone can if not everyone does, either you do or you don't. Therefore you might as well say that anyone who can use the Force was destined too, and was thus born with the innate ability to do so. The choice now comes from how an individual chooses the path to their destiny rather than whether or not they choose to rise to the occasion, and thus in a way doesn't invalidate characters like Han Solo or Tarkin that are "heroic" to a point without being Force-sensitive. This would also appear to be why Force-sensitives are generally central to galactic affairs.
So George probably decided that since the Force is also a metaphor for life and existence and interconnectedness and all that daoism stuff that everyone has a bit of the Force, which is measured by midichlorians. But only people born with high amounts of midichlorians are able to use the Force (or exert the Will) to do great things, hence why Force users are generally central to galactic affairs.
It's not hard to see his line of thinking, though there is still an argument to be made for whether it diminishes some of the mystique. Still this is part of the reason I don't hate the prequels. Say what you will about them as films but from a storytelling perspective they provide a lot to chew on.

>>77655664
I will be seriously disappointed if Luke does not have moments like this in the new trilogy.
I will be even more disappointed if he ends up dying to some scrub.
>>77655747
Stormtroopers know he's dangerous to be around, but damn he's just so damn cool. Everyone wants to be on Vader's strike team.

I got it senpai.
>>77655763
Eh, I'll be disappointed in it if he does. I'm of the grognard opinion that overblown action sequences and heroically epic stakes killed the quaint adventurousness established by the OT. I was so happy when TCW toned down the scale that Genndywars had, but now I'm worried nucanon's moving back in that direction.
>>77649481
Holy shit that brings back memories.

Seriously? I'm not even a typography nazi that believes that everything aside from Helvetica is tasteless and that kerning is an artform, but that logo just does not look good, by any standard.
>>77655338
The "Vader" looks like it's done on ancient Atari graphics, it looks really jarring having it all angular like that while Star Wars and Down are both allowed curves.

Luke in Shattered Empire was cool, and not just "badass" kinda way, but cool and collected, and in total control, a strong contrast to him in the Star Wars comics.
>>77656093
>a strong contrast to him in the Star Wars comics
thats cause the SW comics is Luke before any sort of jedi philosophy training.

Yeah. I was a big fan of Shattered Empire Luke. Really hoping he is just as good in the new movies because honestly Luke is the only OT character I am exited to see.

>>77654982
The comics is connected to the Servants of the Empire books series, in which Zare is training as a Cadet for the sole purpose of finding out what happened to his sister, who was also training at the academy and "went missing".
No need to be buttmad. Anon was expressing his pleasure in the fact that all canon material is connected and benefits off each other, something the EU could never do. If this upsets you, then you are quite literally a butthurt EUfag.
>>77655664
I love this too. Finally, we are about to see some visual representation of Vaders true power. We never got that at all in the OT because we only see him fight his own son. Lords of the Sith showcased his strength in the force in a quite intimidating manner. I look forward to seeing him slaughter these Rebels just like he did the Twi'leks in that book.
>>77656816
This has me very interested. Assuming that there is a good explanation that is.
Pls dont bully the daisy
>>77657242

>>77657359
>Anon was expressing his pleasure in the fact that all canon material is connected and benefits off each other, something the EU could never do.
Are you honestly suggesting that the EU never had books and comics that were connected?
Why can't the people who post here ever know what they're talking about before they post? They wouldn't look like idiots nearly as much, but I guess they don't care. People like you insist on being insufferable and it hurts the thread more than any foot picture could.
>>77657399
>Boyega is actually looking like a damn fantastic actor, and Daisy... Is not.
Boyega has been in things before and proven himself. It is honestly a shame his getting cast was in large part influenced by his race (and thus cheapening his accomplishment).
But get reading for Hayden 2.0 with Daisy.
>>77657399
What you're saying doesn't make any sense. We've known Boyega is a good actor for years. Dasiy Ridley is has nothing to her name.
Are you by chance from /tv/?
>>77657435
Boy, the EU contradicted itself all the time. This little comic ties into a TV show and Novel series flawlessly.
There were continuity errors even in ongoing series like Legacy of the Force.

>>77657449

Nope.

>Will any Asian characters join the cast, a fan asks. Abrams: “There are Asians in this film. The truth is we didn’t write the character of Finn to be any color, we didn’t write Rey to be any color.” They just went for the right actors.

>people still not realizing Rey probably isnt related to the OT cast
>>77657435
>Are you honestly suggesting that the EU never had books and comics that were connected?
Of course this happened, I am not an idiot. It was in a much more amateur fashion however, and left a lot of continuity errors which plagued the EU.
>>77657435
>Why can't the people who post here ever know what they're talking about before they post?
I do, I read the EU. I was quite fond of some of it.
>>77657435
>They wouldn't look like idiots nearly as much, but I guess they don't care. People like you insist on being insufferable and it hurts the thread more than any foot picture could.
I'm not being an idiot. It's a damn fact that Canon in 1 year has built a convincingly connected world with no continuity problems, whereas the EU failed massively in that.
Just because the EU had some connections and references to other EU works, doesn't prove me or other anons wrong. The LSG has been constructing canon in a much more consistent way. Denying this is absurd.
>>77657503
No, fuck /tv/, just initial impressions seemed to be in her favor.
>>77657449
I've seen Attack the Block. I didn't think it was that good and I didn't think Boyega was exactly amazing.
>>77657526
>Boy, the EU contradicted itself all the time.
So? It also tied together all the time.
>This little comic ties into a TV show and Novel series flawlessly.
So? You say that like it's an accomplishment. It's not, especially since that sort of thing is...common. In any sort of shared universe franchise. Marvel does it, DC does it, Hellboy does it, Star Wars did it....it's not special. You need to congratulate yourself everytime you notice something like that and pity people who read books that you didn't?
That's pretty gosh darn annoying. And it shits up the thread. Pls refrain from making shitposts in the thread from now on, okay? Thank you.
Getting hung up on what is and isnt canon is dumb.
>>77657579
He's lying you twat. Star Wars is a family story, Rey is clearly of Skywalker descent. LUCAS even said this.
>actually believing JJ when he said "we didn't think about race guise, we swear"
Come the fuck on, this is the guy who has previously on other projects stated he was intentionally looking for people of color.
That being said (and this is partly directed at >>77657565) I don't think Finn is a bad casting, and I don't think Boyega, or anybody, should feel like his achievement should be cheapened, whether he was casted on his race or not..
>>77657584
>>77657526

>Lucas also had his script trashed and has no involvement with the project anymore.
Really kinda a shame...
Which canon novel should Ilisten tonext? Already read Tarkin, Lost Stars, Heir to the Jedi, and Weapon of a Jedi.
>>77657584
>It's a damn fact that Canon in 1 year has built a convincingly connected world with no continuity problems
Okay. Now lets see them build a story that's actually great. They've failed massively at that. Nothing has been better than mediocre.
>>77657713
lmao, he could have had his idea used if he didn't fucking sell it.
don't feel bad for him.
Reminder that all tie-in material, canon or not, is inherently mediocre due to being tie-in content, because great writers don't waste their time writing tie-in stories.
>>77657670
It's a science fiction franchise anon, canon is important to people. Why do you think the LSG exists? They're literally being paid to keep canon in check.
It's clearly important to people. If its not to you, no big deal. But don't call it dumb, it's clearly something that a lot of people care about. Canon being maintained in the way it is affects the future of the franchise.
For example, say your favorite character is Ventress. It doesn't matter if you don't care about canon, it still affects you becauseshe died in a book and will never return.
So yeah, when Canon is affecting the franchise in a such a way, people care. People want to stay in the loop.
>>77657565

writing =/= casting

>>77657728
Ain't feeling bad for Lucas. I'm feeling bad for us.
His ideas were probably better than what we are going to get because he has a good understanding over over all scale and story flow. Much more than Disney corporate executives and JJ "tow the line" Abrams.

>I do, I read the EU. I was quite fond of some of it.
Again, act like it. Conduct yourself with a little dignity.
>I'm not being an idiot.
You are. You're so easily impressed by noticing a connection between a book and a comic in a shared universe that you have to make a backhanded comment about the EU, even though that's shit they've been doing for years?
You pretty much are an idiot if you're so easily taken aback by something like that. You're acting like a fucking toddler.
>>77657724

>>77657726

>>77657686
Nobody is saying that, and calling me a bandwagoner is akin to saying "n-not a true fan!". Go fuck yourself.
>>77657705
They said they're using a very vague outline of his ideas. A lot of stuff has probably changed sure but the characters and ideas are still from Lucas.
>>77657713
It is a shame, I wouldn't have minded him loosely working on the new movies, like he did for TCW.
>>77657730
>this bullshit
Why are you even here? Does Rebels not count as tie-in material? What about the comics?
This is also a pretty shitty opinion considering many of us here have been enjoying a lot of the books, so one anon saying "b-b-but they're tie ins so they have to be shit!" isn't going to change anything.
>>77657759
Too bad he's a terrible storyteller. Kasdan co-wrote the script for TFA and knows how to tell a good Star Wars movie on screen. And of course is working from all the ideas Lucas discussed with him over the years.
>>77657752
>Nufan to the franchise here, seeing Hera say that Kanan told her Mustafar is where Jedi go to die and then reading in Lords of the Sith that Mustafar is where Jedi are interrogated and executed pleases me.

>>77657752
I know how you feel. Connections like this works because there's no continuity errors that break the immersion. Whereas the EU had dozens of connections and references, ruined by the hundreds of inconsistencies and bullshit. This is what the EU anon is not understanding.
>>77657776
Not the Anon you're arguing with, but please shut the fuck up. You're being an annoying little shit.
>>77657792
Yes, I do not read comic books and I only come here for Star Wars Rebels.
>>77657782
>They said they're using a very vague outline of his ideas. A lot of stuff has probably changed sure but the characters and ideas are still from Lucas.
Their was an interview with Lucas a few days ago where he was whining about Disney not wanting his scripts and ideas.
Reminder that none of this shit actually counts as real canon because it's not the movies and if you say otherwise, you're deluding yourself. I bet you shits will line up at McDonalds if they put a four word "canon" sentence on every burger wrapper.
>>77657809
The prequels were full of good ideas. TCW too, and they were executed better because of the other writers, and Filoni.
>>77657776
Jesus, what is the point of this post, it just seems like you want this argument to drag on forever
>>77657788
Lucas is a pretty good storyteller. He gets bogged down in the details and that is what fucks him up. Clone Wars turned out just fine.
Kasdan hasn't done anything good since the 80s. And we have no proof that he is working off ideas Lucas talked to him about.
>>77657775
>shill
sup /v/eddit
>>77657759
lmao, Lucas came up with some good ideas but they all needed to be filtered by Kasdan the OT gang back in the day.
Lucas even ADOPTED some of Kasdan's ideas for the trilogy (Yoda being an actual Jedi, and able to use a lightsaber, for one).
It's a good thing Kasdan is co-writing the script.
>>77657825

>>77657838

>>77657846
>>77657796
He's not wrong, though. Continuity =/= quality
>>77657839
A lot of the ideas were fucking stupid and still are, and TCW only made them less stupid due to good writing. Maul coming back from the dead is incredibly retarded. It only works thanks to the good story, but the idea is fucking stupid.
>>77657843
> Clone Wars turned out just fine.
Because he had a Filoni and a team of writers to interpret his ideas. Just like with the OT and unlike the PT.
