Collecting her journalism written as the Reagan gangs crimes were unfolding it is an almost real time account of the events of the 80s as they occurred and became revealed
>Jonathan Kwitny: The Crimes of Patriots
Read about the CIA in the Golden Triangle in the 60s/70s and then the Contra and Dirty Wars of the 1980s and you will notice the same names appear again and again. You might ask yourself where were they in between?
Banking in Australia. This is the best source outside of Oz on the infamous Nugan Hand Bank formed in the 1970s and its executive positions full of men with no banking, business, or legal experience but years of experience in special forces, intelligence, and military command.
It amassed a large capital base, opened branches in Vientine and Chiang Mai and elsewhere, engaged in a variety shady activities, and then collapsed with all assets wiped out and one founder dead and the other missing.it was laundering the money the CIA made in the Golden Triangle
>Alfred W. McCoy: The Politics of Heroin
The single best source of information on CIA narcotrafficking. From the French Connection being reopened after WWII to fund mafia & ex-SS thugs for strike breaking in France and Italy, to the Golden Triangle to fund the KMT & Hmong, to Contra cocaine and Mujahideen heroin, the War on Drugs, Nugan Hand, etc.

The La Penca bombing? Yeah, but thats pretty lame. The Contras in fact did not do it and the Christic Institute overreached with their case. Like David MacMichael said they were "eager, perhaps overeager, to demonstrate that this enterprise was responsible for everything since Cain slaying Abel."

Thanks for posting this, both the comic and the links.
Saw the movie Spotlight last night and afterwards the theatre had a live Skype session with the reporter whose character Mark Ruffalo plays in the film.
There was a question from the audience about corruption in large institutions and part of his reply was to say that any time you have an organization with lots of secrecy and little to no oversight you're going to have all kinds of shennanigans happen.
I think that sums all of this up very nicely.
