What does /co/ think about the Madagascar franchise? And yes Madagascar 4 is on the way.
Honestly it's surprisingly watchable. Better than brain cell killing shit like Minions. And the Penguins work better in small doses. Giving them a show and a movie? Bad idea. They excelled in the Madagascar movies. Hell in said movies Julien was also likable and not a spoiled jerk ass like in the Penguins show. And Mort was NOT annoying due to a lack of screen time.
About the only flaw the movie had? Pic related. Alex the Lion stole too much of the screen time. Though admittedly Gloria and Melman aren't very entertaining at all.

I wasn't a fan of giraffe and hippo shipping. In a setting where animals are kind of sort of actual animals and humans also exist, giraffe and hippo felt all kinds of wrong.
The first one was pretty okay, I guess because it had a neat idea behind it, I guess. The only problem is literally none of the main characters are likeable, they're so fucking bland. The animation and art style are pretty appealing.
