It was pretty meh for me. Didn't do a good job with explaining the setting. Immediately killed off villains and their deaths lacked any punch.
Honestly it should have done a lot more in the like 60 pages it had but it barely even got into what this shit is actually about or what the stakes are. I might check out #2 because its pretty to look at.

For me, it was a pretty decent set up. It did a good job complementing visual with exposition. It answers just enough with leaving enough questions for the next issue. Like why the war started? What is the mask? Etc

Picked this up just today actually out of curiosity and love for the art, so it's nice to see it on here.

I think it kind of just threw too much at the reader character wise and didn't establish the world enough, which made it feel confusing and a bit unsatisfying. I assume that will stop as new issues come out though and we get a better idea of the world.

The art's pretty but reminds me of Korean MMO concept arts, also the artist did X-23? Which is probably why the MC looks like X-23.
I thought characterization of the villains, setting, plot and world building elements were fine though. It leaves some things to the imagination and doesn't just spell everything out.
That said, it was still somewhat "eh" to me. But I'd certainly keep up with it till it loses steam.
I was lost for a bit and it took some rereading to actually understand what was going on. It threw too many lore specific terms at me before I knew what they meant.
Also, the protagonist is forgetful at the moment. I have no reason to care about her and honestly found more interest in the fox girl. Hopefully the next few issues explain the MC's past and/or goals so that I can give a damn.
Overall it was a "meh" start with amazing art and atmosphere. I'll support the book until I lose interest since I like Liu.
I like it enough to want to read the next book and see where it goes. Thanks OP.
