Was browsing /vr/ when I noticed the cover to Blackthorne was drawn by Jim Lee.
Let's get a thread going for comic artist's work outside comics.

McFarlane did a lot of art for Korn and even directed a music video for them
Morrison and Quitley collaborated with Robbie Williams on this album
>>77542190
Jack Kirby's concept art for the fake Lord of Light movie, of Argo fame. Colourized by Heavy Metal. Link shows some more.

Will Eisner's gun care and safety manuals from WW2
Entire manual can be found at

Does it count that the artist ended up doing more vidya than comics after a while?
>>77542172
He also did Neo Contra.
Moebius did concept artwork for Panzer Dragoon.
>>77542236
Kirby also designed costumes for an adaptation of Julius Caesar
http://kirbymuseum.org/blogs/effect/caesar/
Moebius did concept-art for a bunch of movies like Alien, Tron, Dune, Williow, 5th Element...
Jhonen Vasquez (Invader Zim, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac) directed a music video for Mindless Self Indulgence's "Shut Me Up."

1990s Deathlok artist Denys Cowan did the album cover art for GZA/Genius's Liquid Swords.
>>77542190
There are some others in the series, my favourites being Cho doing White Noise and Dan Clowes doing Frankenstein
>>77542190
IIRC also did character design work for Disney's Atlantis.
>>77542458
Leinil Francis Yu did concept art for a few vehicles in the Serenity movie, like pic related.
>>77542487
also, one of the memiest books' memiest cover was made by Frankie 'Whores' Miller
Brendan McCarthy did Mad Max 2's designs, and they look even better on paper than on movie
>>77542401
Only Kirby would make ancient Romans look like intergalactic psychedelic super heroes.
What a legend

Legendary DC horror comics/Warren Publishing/Heavy Metal artist Alex Niño was a pre-production/visual development artist for Disney's Mulan (see pic). He also worked as a visual development artist for Disney's Atlantis and did character design for the 1980s Visionaries cartoon.
You can see more of his Mulan pre-production/concept art at the following links:

Lee, the Dodsons and Johnson redesigned the General Mills monsters

Fuckin based Nino. Apparently he did concept art for Atlantis as well, but I cant find it
>>77542684
There's also the longstanding rumor that Ralph Bakshi wanted to get Niño as the primary concept artist for Wizards, but Niño had trouble getting an American work visa so Bakshi ended up withdrawing the job offer. (Bakshi ended up ripping off a lot of the film's designs from a Vaughn Bodē strip instead... Bodē sued Bakshi for credit, IIRC, and they settled the matter out-of-court.)

Kirby did the storyboards for the 1970s Fantastic Four animated series (the crappy one that replaced the Human Torch with H.E.R.B.I.E. the Robot).

Iron Fist: The Living Weapon and Spider-Man: Reign artist/writer Kaare Andrews has directed two feature-length indie horror films, 2010's Altitude, and last year's Cabin Fever: Patient Zero.

>Wants to check his work but doesn't want to pirate his work because you want to support Filipino creators
Dang it, DC. Where are the trade reprints?!

Afua Richardson (artist on the Image Comics/Top Cow miniseries Genius) is also a professional bassist and singer-songwriter. Below is a link to a video of one of her songs:

Were his comics fucking awesome?
>>77542971
Some of Niño's work for Warren Publishing has been reprinted in Dark Horse's Eerie and Creepy Archives hardcovers, although for my money, I think some of his best work for Warren (and in general) was to be found in the more adult-oriented 1984 and 1994 magazines. Assuming Dark Horse has the rights to the Warren back-catalogue (outside of Vampirella), maybe the company will also publish 1984/1994 Archive hardcovers at some point in the near future if there is enough of a demand for the material.
I have a copy of the Dancehall Crashers live album, Adrian Tomine did the cover art for it.
>>77542172
Former Wildstorn Studios artist Aron Wiesenfeld (he drew the original Team 7 series, and he received an Eisner for his work on the Deathblow/Wolverine crossover miniseries) eventually left comics to become an acclaimed fine arts painter.
>>77542500
That's pretty good.
David Gibbons collaborated with Charles Cecil on the wonderful adventure game Beneath a Steel Sky.

>>77542594
I wonder if the Cereal King had anything to do with this
Peark Jam's Do The Evolution animated music video was co-directed by Todd McFarlane
Let's not forget about Jamie Hewlett
Pacific Rim poster by Metal Gear Solid artist, Yoji Shinkawa
Before going to Rap, Eminem wanted to work on the comic book industry.
Pic related is a drawing of his.
>>77548125
Also he really likes Spider-Man.
>>77548125
>>77548142
damn, they're good
Simon Bisley did some limited movie-posters
>>77548334
>>77548348
and the box-art for the videogame Weaponlord
>>77548125
I'm sensing traced stuff, but if not I'd pay good money for a comic drawn by slim shady
>>77543032
the darksider comic is just as rad as the game, if not more so
>>77548434
Bisley did that? Thanks! Always want to know who did that box art.
>>77542483
He did the concept art, but it was too weird for a Disney movie, which I can understand. It's still very noticeable in the shape of the fingers of the characters.
/co/ I need your help. Who did all these snes box art? Many for Konami US: Castlevania IV, Contra 3, Sunset Riders, Axelay and some TMNT games like Turtles in Times, Radical Rescue, The Manhattan Missions, TMNT The Arcade Game, TMNT: Hyperstone Heist.
>>77550464
I don't know but its rad as fuck
>>77548046
That doesn't really fit the concept of this thread. Shinkawa's career is being a mecha designer not doing art just for MGS so that Pacific Rim poster is just another part of his main work. He also did the design for Godzilla in Final Wars.
Neal Adams did the artwork and insert comics for some Star Trek story records
>Page 10
The hell with that bullshit!
