Puppeteering and stop motion have been under /co/'s umbrella since time immemorial.

Christmas Carol followed immediately by Treasure Island. Jim's son really did him proud.

Apparently these are Jim Henson's early notes which he wrote whilst developing The Muppet Show. Obviously a few changes were made here and there for what it would be like when the Muppets are in the world, but overall I think the essence remains intact.

Hey, just because he was gay doesn't mean Scooter was, too.

I love this one more every time I watch it. For some reason, one gag I never cared for as a kid, but now find hilarious, is when a human male is sexually attracted to Miss Piggy. It's the fucking funniest thing ever. Charles Grodin's love song to her put my sides into orbit last time.
Also, the running joke with Kermit and Fozzie being twins:
>"Look daddy, a bear!"
>"No, dear, that's a frog. Bears have hats."
The original. 2011 isn't too far off.

Rowlf. Gotta be Rowlf.

MTI probably will be a favorite of a lot of people b/c childhood nostalgia while the 80s movies were before my time.

Treasure Island is my favorite movie, my favorite muppet is a tie between Sam the Eagle and Swedish Chef [spoiler PEOPLE HANDS [/spoiler]

Treasure Island was solid. It combined a real sense of thrill and adventure with standard Muppet hi-jinks. Tim Curry is always fun.
About your nostalgia point, this might not be the place to bring it up, but it's a weird notion to me. I was born in 1986, but I've been exposed to so much media from before my time. As much as Transformers and Ninja Turtles were a part of my childhood, so was Popeye and The Flintstones. Syndication and limited TV content meant that we all grew up with a serious sampling of shows that really belonged to our parents generations. I was watching I Love Lucy and Gilligan's Island just as much as MacGyver and Knight Rider. The Muppet Movie/Show was way before my time, but they were almost always on TV, and I had them on VHS as well.
It's something that is really dying off though. The new generations are exposed to so much media, at the touch of a button, there's no need for them to watch anything old, not that they would even want to.
Muppets are kind of timeless, though, and as an enduring franchise, I think anyone that sees one Muppet movie and likes it will more than likely track down and watch the rest.

Dude, dude, dude. The first sentence was enough to get your point across. You didn't need to write an entire essay.
>>77545946
It was a separate thought. The rest had nothing to do with the first sentence.
Muppet Christmas Carol. I watch it every Christmas
>>77546016
Hell I once watched it in July. It still made me feel festive.
>>77546016
