Is the film Wizards any good?
All I know is it has an almost naked fairy girl.
>>77517802
It just plain weird
It's definitely worth watching all the way through for this one specific scene at the end, I think.
But is the whole movie good? Ehh... Not really, but I'm sure there are some people that like it. Really hit or miss, and you'd need to decide yourself.
>>77517802
It's ok.
There are worse movies.

>Thought it was going to be a magic fight between brothers
>Let me save time and pull my gun out and pop some bullets in a motherfucker ass
I laughed so fucking hard

It has a purpose in animation history. Its not the best film but its a staple of a very interesting time in animation. Bakshi delivers better story wise in other films. Fire and Ice being one of my favorites. But this movie is definitely eye candy for old animation freaks like me.
The final fight makes the entire movie.
Why didn't Bakshi ever just straight up make porn? Ive fapped to Fritz the Cat over a million times

Reminder that Bakshi made Wizards because he wanted to prove that he could make a family film.

>tfw I just found out this movie existed a few days ago
>tfw I saw a bit of the war scene where the elves die as a kid and it was so bizarre to me that I thought I had imagined it all this time
>>77517802
It's not his best, but that fucking fairy turns my dick into diamonds.
My personal favorite Bakshi movie (and my second favorite movie, period) is American Pop. Fire and Ice is also a criminally underrated Bakshi/Frazetta work. If you wanna see fight scenes in rotoscope, Fire and Ice has you covered.
>>77518521
My penis demands he make more family films.
>>77517802
no its not really good, its very generic
the the magic wood elves are the peaceful good guys that are being attacked by nazis because why not.
see heavy traffic if you want to see good bakshi

Dat Darkwolf.
It's pretty good. Likable characters, good story, pacing is correct and isn't too fast or too slow.
It's honestly worth watching the whole way through just for the final fight scene.
I love Wizards - especially the ending.
>>77517802
I watched it and Fire and Ice for the first time a few months ago.
Wizards was shit and I had to force myself to watch it.
Fire and Ice was actually really good, made me start making a stone age action game I was so inspired by it
If it wasn't for all the tits I'd show it to my nephew
It's ok. A lot of the appeal came from the sneak peak at Mario 3, so without that it doesn't age massively well. At the very least, it's quotable.
>I love the power glove. It's so bad.
Not as a film, but maybe as some sort of video-art or something.
>>77519159
Frazetta had a bitchin time working with the studio on this movie.
In fact the male animators were gushing like little girls with Frank around.
>>77519405
This, it's really nice to look at and appreciate the old aesthetics. I think it's comfy.
>come up with an amazing, genre-twisting idea for an animated film
>produce great concept art
>run out of money
>PANIC
>scramble to finish the film with no resources
>get frustrated, quit
>blame studio interference
every Ralph Bakshi movie ever
>>77518521
>to prove that he could make a family film.
>it's titty fairies and Hitler wizards
He proved something alright.
>>77517802
It depends entirely on how much you enjoy weird for the sake of weird.
>>77517802
That ultimate showdown was a thing of fucking beauty.
THEY KILLED FRITZ!

These guys get it. If nothing else, the final fight is a masterpiece.
>>77521503
the naration at the beggining was pretty awsome also, but yes, the last scene is definatly the best.
also, why did the elf guy in this look like elf in elfquest? coincidence?
>>77517869
I miss the good old days when animators could get away with this
>>77517802
The movie's okay sober, has some interesting visuals and characters.
It really stands out as a great movie when drunk or high, though.
desperately needed an editor. could have been probably 40 minutes long and a genuinely great work of art. as it is, as others have said, definitely worth watching once for the handful of good parts.
>>77517802
On one hand, he entirely ripped off another person's work since Wizards is just an animated Cobalt 60 by another name.
On the other hand, he later on gave the guy who created Cobalt 60 credit and financial compensation with the two becoming friends.
So it's a wash I guess?
>>77518521
Well, it IS rated PG...in theory, he did accomplish that.
>>77521193
>mfw they killed Fritz
