But nobody else knew what the fuck Buzz was doing or why he was doing it. It's not like they were going 'oh, man, I remember when I did that!', they thought he was playing and kidding around. Woody even had an epiphany moment where he suddenly realizes 'hey, wait a second, this guy is actually being for serious right now, what the fuck is even going on'.
Granted the dinosaur toys in that christmas special were also heavily immersed in the roleplay but that was more because the wizard dinosaur knew what was going on and kept the others ignorant on purpose, while the spoiled little shit was stuck in front of his playsphere 720.
