I like how it has the chicks in the top left panel but in the dinner panel you can see eggs. Kind of negates the positive feeling normal chicks would give off, the cute little peepers, with the implication that the MC is jaded to them knowing they're just food as the rest.

I just finished reading this not too long ago, having family that live in the Windsor/Essex area ( I'm in Michigan) really had these stories strike closer to home for me.

Really liked the bird motif through this story, it doesn't do anything on the emotional spectrum really but it shows that care was put into the panelling, drawing, things that "minimalist" art comics for this usually get shit on for not having.
