I do believe it's time for a Fairchild thread!
>>77486336
Haven't read her in years. Wonder what's up.
>>77486336
Anybody ever watched the movie? If so, how was it?
>>77486336
b-but i dont think my dick can take anymore anon :^(
>>77486616
Buttercup is Roxy
Who dis?
>>77487067
You never heard of Gen 13?
>>77487161
Looks 90's.
>>77486616
It's pretty good, there's a lack of Burnout and Rainmaker though.
Inb4 someone posts the depressing issues where they are killed by the nuke.
>>77487467
Yeah.
>>77487488
...context please.
>>77487588
>>77487234
Is that one guy always checking her out?
>>77487648
Pretty much.
>>77487516
Rainmaker was a lesbian right?
I did a Gen13 binge a few weeks ago, as part of a larger WildStorm binge. I legitimately loved the series. Planetary and The Authority still outshine it, but it was a nice take on the X-Men formula.
>>77487610
Can't even remember
Roxy starts eating a lot because she's depressed over some dumb shit Grunge did. He daydreams Caitlin and Sarah getting into a lingerie wrestling match or something while they argue about feminism. I think the whole issue is about them going to get some fast food. A bad guy may or may not show up.
>>77487701
cant really blame him there or any of the other times. fairchild got hot and decided she didnt need clothes anymore
I remember reading Wizard back in the day and always shaking my head at how much they loved this title. It was just a phony envelope-pusher that was always in the shadow of X-garbage. Oh, look! Our character is a LESBIAN!
Then again... that's Wizard, for you. Jim McLaughlin was the only redeemable element in that entire operation.
>>77487768
Claimed as "bi" but definitely leaned more toward lesbian, yeah. I think for whatever reason, they couldn't flat-out say she was a lesbian for a while, or something.
They did, however, show her having a preference for white trash blondes who like hair metal.
>>77487805
But he's already dating the best girl so fuck grunge.
>>77487773
I'm still trying to find trades.
>>77487768
Basically, I think Bobby is the only time she ever gets lucky though. Being her is pain.
>>77487839
Gen13 wasn't much like X-Men at all though, at least not until Marvel came out with Generation X.
>>77487571
>the fanservice-y comedy books ends with everyone dying.
So what's the best way to read Gen13?
>>77488196
no pants
>>77486616
It's a half-finished borefest with Shitty voice-acting. There's a shower scene between the two girls and you won't even care about it.
>>77488196
Chronological.
Skip Lobdell.
>>77488196
Start at the beginning. If it's too rough/too 90s for you then skip to Warren's run which starts in Issue 60. If you like 90s comics though then read it without fear. Also keep in mind that the ongoing series is volume 2 and there's a 5 issue mini before it.
>>77487290
>Fairchild in a supergirl outfit
It's not my first time seeing this, but I still can't handle it.
>>77488187
So it's Adam Warren's writing.
>>77488283
The Lobdell issues aren't that bad but he went too far in a comedy direction and the humor wasn't that good. Either way though it's unskippable because that's when Benes started, one of the definitive Gen13 artists.
>>77487957
So she's a lesbian but she's never been shown doing any lesbian stuff and her only sexual experience was with a guy.
that's a shitty lesbian right there.
>>77488391
She tried, she has a girlfriend during one run. But then the subsequent writers just forgot about her.
And then she hit on both Roxy and Caitlin on separate occasions and got rejected by both.
>>77488375
>but he went too far in a comedy direction and the humor wasn't that good
And that's exactly the problem. Plus I just have a massive hate-boner for Scotty.
>>77488529
I don't even know why he tried it, comedy isn't at all something he's known for. That run is just such a totally awkward and weird thing to read.
If he would have just written it the way he wrote Generation X it probably would have been fine.
>>77488630
This... This needs to be erased from existence.
>>77488630
anime was a mistake
>>77488636
He was a stand up comic before he became a writer.
>>77488680
Miyazaki, please.
>>77488852
>this heartwarming dad and daughter reunion is brought to you by ASS
>>77488630
I really hate the middle one's hair...
>>77489031
>the thong has tron lines
Oh nu52
>>77489031
I liked Ravagers, it's a shame it was stuck together with the culling.
>>77489163
>No Ass
What a shame.
My Fairchild folder is just about exhausted.
I've got a little Ivana and Roxy...
>>77489429
No Rainmaker?
>>77489489
She's fine as fapbait but just doesn't do much for me on a character level.
Gen13 was pretty mediocre so how would you make it better /co/? I personally thought the series needs to be nore grounded with less focus on wacky adventures and more focus on the kids and how they adapt to being superpowered fugitives on the run.
>>77490080
So...Runaways?
>>77490080
I would just make it Danger Girl.
>>77490127
More or less. The "street family" model that runaways used is something I'm very interested in when it comes to Superteen teams.
>>77488630
Whoa.
It's like he's trying to channel early Masamune Shirowand failing badly.
>>77490080
That sounds pretty typical for a teen superhero book
I like it the way it is. Or at least, the way it was whenever Campbell or Warren were involved
>>77486407
Last I heard, she was in a comic called Ravagers (basically, a Teen Titans "on the run" team) that launched within the first year, or so, of the New 52. It crashed pretty quickly.
>>77491365
Also fought Steel in Convergence.
>>77491659
>>77491112
It's a formula that produces some pretty entertaining stories.
If DC brought Gen13 back do you think they'd go in sort of a fun/sexy direction with it like with Starfire and Harley Quinn or will they be too afraid to go there?
>>77493835
Sexy is "problematic" the best we could hope for is quirky/cute.I know it's Ivy.
>>77489052
it's obviously green piping shit's not even glowing
>>77493957
Wasn't talking about Fairchild.
>>77493835
We're way too deep into the age of social justice for that
anyone got the shot from the animated movie where her boobs pop out?
>>77493835
If they angled them as very young adults like the original Gen13, there's no way they'd go sexy. They'd get stomped on by all ends of the socio-political spectrum. At this point, I don't think you can sexualize a female character under the age of 25 (or under a C-cup) without having your company called pedophiles by SJW's.
>>77493636
>>77493885
Fuuuuck...
>>77493835
The thing about Starfire and Harley is those books have female creators so they can be attractive without causing a fuss. If they could do that then they'd be solid.
>>77494134
It's supposed to be aimed at teenagers though! But I guess they don't think about stuff like that.
