What was the first webcomic you read?
Pic Unrelated
>>77486239
LFG some years back
This guy.
http://mediumrare.comicgenesis.com/
2002. I was 12 years old.
Fanboys.
I miss Scott.
>>77486239
Far as I can remember I started with those awful Sonic fancomics done by Psyguy or whatever his name was.
8-Bit Theater. Those were the days.
>>77486239
Beaver and Steve
>>77486239
Devil's Panties, then Girls with Slingshots, started same day
It was about 2003(?) that I first picked up Fur Will Fly. I didn't even continue it after I finished binging because just where I got caught up, the artist had to leave.
Spyro Advance
Probably around 2000-2001 since year of the dragon just came out.
Also pretty much anything on the list of top100webcomics or something similar that
>>77486239
I'm ashamed to say my first webcomic was Jack.
So my sister discovered webcomics around the time we got a computer for Christmas and the Internet was still very new to people. She kept calling me over to look at her favorite one, a gay comic called Boy Meets Boy.
"What? OH GODDAMNIT SIS I DON'T WANNA SEE YOUR GAY SEX COMIC LEAVE ME ALO- Huh? What's that link say? RPG World? Click it."
Laughed for hours and hours reading it. Helped that my friend got me into Final Fantasy games at the time.
Megatokyo
forgive me. I was young and foolish and it was popular.
I think it was either C&H or Penny Arcade.
Might have been Megatokyo, might have been Ansem Retort. Which still has a few jokes I love.
>>77488286
The creator, Ian, works on Steven Universe now
also I'm pretty sure he's plowing Rebecca Sugar
>>77486239
Lackadaisy when it first started, completely forgot about it after quitting deviantart
>>77490314
I believe that's my answer as well, although it's been a very long time. It might have been; what was the one about a bunch of linux help desk people? It was also not very good.
But, yeah, I read Megatokyo up until the original writer was pushed off so the artist could, whatever the fuck he did.
Sabrina Online because it was one of the first ones to come out.
Stopped reading when she went to work for Zig Zag, because it was fucking stupid.
>>77490444
User Friendly? Yeah that was also pretty lousy, it was just the novelty of "it's a comic strip but it's about things only WE care about!" which was a big deal in 1998.
>>77486253
How many years?
Would you say ten million?
Can't even remember the very first, but I do remember discovering Look What I Brought Home and very quickly searching how to clear the history.
Also Sexy Losers.
Boxer Hockey
I didn't get into webcomics till I was older.
>>77490633
I fucking loved this comic.
Userfriendly. Started reading it because a friend insisted it was hilarious. Got through 200-ish strips before giving up. Boring as fuck.
MFW so tired right now that I picked a tow truck instead of a dining room for the CAPTCHA.
its a toss up between power rings andexterminates now.
fun fact, that second ones ending soon. god I feel old
QC
Bob And George. I was introduced to it by a friend when we were both in 4th grade. I used to read that shit all the time. I kinda miss sprite comics. Does anyone remember Drshnaps?
>>77486239
People on 4chan read my shitty sprite comics?
>>77486239
why the fuck are those furries so slutty?
And to answer your question OP, Bob and George was my first Webcomic. Looking back now, it's shit.
>>77491103
Clicks.
Duh.
For me, i think it was either vg cats or 8bit final fantasy. The fond days of when flash animation was booming. Incidentally, who remembers LegendaryFrog?
>>77486346
He's still around, he just refuses to draw this time for no apparent reason.
Last time was due to the dead of his brother.
>>77491179
Isn't Legendary Frog an asshole?
>>77491179
I do.
>>77491314
Dunno, havent heard or seen anything from him in nearly 10 years
>>77491449
Thats mah boy
Sexylosers
Which I'm very confused about it. Is it coming back?
http://sexylosers.claycomix.com/
Either the Wotch or DMFA
I moved on to El Goonish Shive thru the Wotch
Men In Hats.
I thought it was really funny when I was 12.
>>77486239
>I used to know the girl that made the OP comic
Sprite comics never again.
Speaking of it my first was probably something sprite related psyguy wrote.
Josh Lesnick's Wendy (the 1999 pre-reboot one) and RPG World.
And between IJQ and superhappy I was banking on superhappy to have a successful comic career.
I was right. :)
Anders Loves Maria, which coincidentally was the first webcomic I regularly read to have ended.
I think it was Ruins of the Fourth Wall. Author stopped making comics years ago and there's no more evidence of its existence after Psyguy's pissbaby tantrum in tearing down his website and taking a ton of comics down with it.
>>77492209
You may be thinking MUTE, which the OP comic isn't.
>>77491010
Too many Zs on the internet.
>>77492435
Them's fightin' words.
The earliest webcomics I remember reading were Dan & Mab's Furry Adventures, Yet Another Stupid Sonic Sprite Comic, and CTRL+ALT+DEL.
I had no taste as a youth.
>>77486239
I'm old..
>>77492394
Looks like the same author made it, though. Word bubbles are similar. This one was probably ripped from one of dozens nondescript group "projects."
Either Pawn or freefall.
I'm still a bit disappointed that Pawn will probably never update again and they'll never get out of that dungeon.
This lovely one.
>>77492566
No, I think you were right originally. I thought you were going by characters, and the orange cat is originally from MUTE, by another author.
>>77492688
Oh, yeah, you're right. Zman made this one. I was thinking of the chick that did MUTE, yeah.
It's been a long time. It all blends together after a few years.
>>77492782
>>77492782
Z is trying to tie this one in to the same continuity as Bar'd and a select few others. A veritable "universe" I guess. Left behind the fancomics and tried to make something original, or at least as much as you can get with sprites. Z advertised another one coming up but so far, nothing. Typical, typical.
>>77492782
Zman is now just Z and is transgendered or something now.
The chick that did MUTE is Shard. I think she has a new comic out now too.
>>77492916
>Another one coming up
Jesus Christ he's not still at it is he?
Almost as bad as GBA.
>>77492938
"Aware."
>>77492962
Oh yeah. That page is from earlier today.
>>77486239
>>77492998
That's hilarious. I'm buddies with a lot of people that used to make sprite comics on that website, myself included. We stopped years ago when we realized we were mass producing tangible autism.
But they're still going at it, years later.
>>77492938
Oh yeah. Shard was also the author of that Digimon comic on smackjeeves too, wasn't she?
>>77493123
Eh, hobby's a hobby. I don't take them too seriously.
Melonpool (I think)
>>77491299
Well he does have a main gig as an artist for extra credits.
Alpha Shade. It was never finished, stopped years ago. I forgot about for the longest time, but every so often I'll be reminded about it then just get sad again.
I don't think I know anyone from Real Life or this site that have read Limpidity.
Better Days.
I read it for the PLOT
I only could have gotten through this in middle school.that can't justify while I'm still reading it though
Who else used this site to find new comics?
>>77486726
I used to love this comic.
A shame Coming Violet just kinda stopped.
>>77486239
Still not sure if this is for good or ill.
>>77493584
you read it for the fetish material, obviously.Couldn't even stomache it in middle school, and I started with megatokyo
Probably VG Cats
Megatokyo. Way back in Middleschool in like 01 or 02 in the 6th grade I started reading this til I dropped it some time in High-school (so before 08)
Before it became a mellow dramatic fest of bullshit this comic was hilarious as all hell.
Largo made this comic... Then the focus went full Piro and drama shit.
Also fun fact when I first went to the website the character section wasn't up.
It's been a decade since then...
Still no character section.
Been talking back and forth, I should probably say my first webcomic.
Bob and George. It still gets nostalgia points and it was the grandaddy sprite comic to be sure. The layout is pretty boring (even for a sprite comic) but I'll have to admit that I still find the writing mostly funny to this day.
Space Moose
DMFA
Probably Penny Arcade.
Peter if the wolf. Guess why I liked it?
>>77486239
That one Sonic webcomic called Exterminatus now or what ever.
Was like some OC characters and some Echidna with robotic parts.
I don't even know what it was about. They all wore black trench coats too.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid counts, right?
>>77492308
>Psy
I thought he took everything down because he got called out for being an otherwise creepy-sleazeball and was trying to drop off the face of the internet.
BOB AND GEORGE
Actually I'm not exactly sure, it may have been 8 Bit Theater or something else, but BAG is the first I remember.I never got around to making the sprite comic I wanted to submit to the site. To this day I'm not sure whether I should be glad or disappointed.AND I still check it regularly for MSPM updates.
>>77486239
FUCKING CAD ALRIGHT, STOP JUDGING ME WITH YOUR COLD EYES
Octopus Pie
It's interesting that my first webcomic was actually pretty good before I sullied my taste with absolute crap like Jack and Suicide For Hire.
>>77494301
>Still reading MSPM.
Well it IS the best sprite comic. Also the only golden-age sprite comic that's not dead.
Does anyone remember Vreakerz? Because i don't!
But it was my first webcomic, that I know for sure.
>>77494345
Amen. I just wish the furfag author had a better work ethic, but I'm grateful he's stubborn enough to STILL be working on this shit a decade later. The will to see a project through is a rare thing and to be cherished.
>>77494415
Yeah. Not to mention he's super chill.
You didn't happen to post on the BnG forums back when that community wasn't dead, did you? We might have bumped in to one-another on occasion.
Megatokyo. I binged it in one weekend. I... god help me I bought T-shirts!
>>77494376
I do, holy fuck.
Whatever happened to that guy?
>>77486239
i think it was either Oxygen Deficient or riceboy, though im pretty sure it was Oxygen Deficient
>>77494462
I brieflyBRIEFLYhung around, mostly in the IRC as, I think, "Roulade," with a searingly teal Mega Man X sprite edit avatar.
It was... a different time.
>>77494626
Ah, that was before my time probably. I found the comic during the tail end of its run; while George was being foisted around different timelines.
>>77494538
He went to school. Now he's back but he wants to work on his art skill some more before returning to Vreakerz. He is currently working on a short story.
>>77494663
I doubt even those who were around then remember me. I mostly lurked, occasionally shot the shit with the rest of the gang regarding plans for the AMAZING stories we'd tell with our recolor OCs, showed off a sprite sheet or two, and never actually got anywhere with it. I can't have been a regular for longer than a year.
It was a good time, though. Fun bunch of people, remarkably little drama, though I hear there was some if you knew where to look. Wish I still had the awful sprite sheets I made back then, if only for nostalgia's sake.
>>77494712
Yeah I get you. I'm still in a community that's kinda like that, though we're mostly on skype. We all do sprite comics and such for shits and giggles.
still the best
>>77494758
Surprised to hear such a thing exists. Sprite comics seem to have gone the way of the dinosaur somewhere around the time people who knew how to use computers figured out how to draw.
>>77490272
This had a really great ending.
>>77494333
Fucking Jack, I know it's not really good yet I still keep up with it. Too much time invested I guess?
>>77494863
It's not anything we take too seriously. There's some readers (nowhere the fuck near as many as BnG or anything like that,) but more than anything it's a hobby. I consider it a decent bit of writing practice as well.
>>77490368
Actually he stopped working on the show a while ago. Most likely his pilot for CN got picked up.
>>77494887
WHAT
>>77494905
Well bully for that. I still think sprites are a good way for artistically-inept writers to dip their feet in the comic-making pool and learn the basics. Shame about the associated stigma.
Does anyone else feel old after replying to this thread?
>>77494887
that wasn't the real ending though. but i thought it was pretty fun, and it still didn't detract for the chance of future comics being made.
>>77494897
>Too much time invested I guess?
i know exactly how you feel. It's the same reason why I can't quit reading El Goonish Shive, DMFA, Misfile, and others!
>>77494931
I don't mind the stigma so much, but it is a shame. Maybe they'll bounce back some time in the future, but eh. We'll see.
I actually like having a smaller reader-base. When it gets sizeable enough the 'tards start rolling out of the woodwork.
>mfw I haven't read Jack in years but I have some morbid curiosity to see how the plot unfolded
>>77495040
Me too anon, I just have to know how the damn thing ends now and I'm not too happy about it. Last I picked it up though was when Megan (?) was in hell and started gaying it up with Jack's old girl?
>>77493615
I still use it to find comicswith naked titties.
Man I dunno if it was my first but the one I'm recalling right now had a string of comics about a dude and his friend. He posted the comics on /mu/ sometimes... or the first comic he made was reposted on /mu/ alot back in... 2009-10 ish... I forgot it but it had cool art and a laid back vibe.
>>77493624
Yeah I think it stopped cause the writer and artist had a falling out and then it just went all over the place with legal bullcrap so he had to take the stuff down.
>>77486239
Bob And George, I think.
>>77494907
What was he working on?
I'm outta the loop when it comes to that sort of thing.
I'd say I actually remember this being really good but I don't know if I trust my middle school judgement.
For the record and before anyone tries to say otherwise, Mall Monkeys was never funny.
Problem Sleuth.
Compensation: Adequate.
>>77493637
It's good if you see past the tumblr pandering and realize Hussie is currently trying to get money, not make his OG fans happy.
>>77493660
There were parts that were genuinely great with no fetish shit whatsoever. I'd honestly defend it as a decent comic until the first birthday party arc when Dan really doubled and tripled down on explaining the minute details of his many very specific fetishes.
>>77495853
I feel like I read this, but maybe I just saw it on the bookshelves and decided it looked like garbage.
>>77495949
>bookshelves
Where? Did it ever go to print?
>>77492677
I still don't get whats happening..
still funny tho.
>>77494887
you almost got me there
>>77490896
Fuck! Exterminated now is still going on and it's ending soon!!? I remember seeing that at like 12 years old and I thought it was so cool because it had sonic oc characters and that's back in the time when sonic of's were the hottest shit ever since hot-cakes, and it was Fucking funny too!
I gotta read it and finish it.
>>77495966
Apparently not?
Man, I've read a lot of crap literature since middle school, it's all blending together at this point
>>77486239
>smackjeeves sprite comics with Sonic ocs
>putting white in the sprites eyes because they're more "expressive" that way
>the mouths
>the shading of pants
Oh god, the memories are flowing back. I thought I left that hell behind me, why, oh god, why.
Anyone?
>>77493964
God, when I first came to 4chan in 07 I saw this shit posted all the time on /b/. Even though the jokes is just about vulgarity and overt sexual innuendo, it's still pretty funny. What became of it?
>>77494028
this looks like the literal worst comic I have ever seen in my life.
>>77496160
It's going to end in 2-3 years, the arc is coming to a close. I can feel it.
Boy has it been a fun ride. Seriously.
>>77488286
anyone know where i can read this?
>>77496188
it gets better.
How much better is debatable.
>>77486239
I honestly can't recall, so I'm just going to post Ghastly.
Sluggy Freelance for me.
Sometimes I think about getting caught up, and then I remember I fell behind over a decade ago.
I was a big fan of Walky back in the day.
Finding out that that guy is still making webcomics is mindboggling
Kevin and Kell
I don't read it much anymore unless I want to jerk it to Kell
>>77494791
Why was Wildcats the mascot of every single elementary school?
can't remember if goblins, oots or yafgc. that was a long ass time ago
>>77490844
>Userfriendly.
This was mine too. I just went to the site and looked at it, and the drawing style has not changed one iota since I stopped reading it at least ten years ago.
Years later, I still feel like I'm the only person who reads it.
>>77491010
Wait a minute, "Z" as in "Let's genderbend Tails and see what happens" "Z"?
>>77486239
did they just rip off of Starbound assets for this comic?
>>77495776
Lake Turbo Plaza.
>>77496122
explain the premise. I see ME-Tan and am intrigued.
>>77492524
Is that website still up? I'm afraid of going back to find out what happened to it.
>>77496255
It doesn't seem to be available to read online anymore but I found these:

>Too young to remember the great sprite comic boom of the early 00s.
Oh fuck I can't remember
some webcomic about some duck kids whose parents were murdered I think.
This was way back in 2001, it was from a sonic the hedgehog forum if I recall.
>>77490368
>>77488286
Ian "If she's jewish and stacked she's getting BLACKED" Jones Quartey
Either Ctrl Alt Del or Grim Tales from Down Below
>>77493524
Those plots were amazing.
Too bad Naylor turned full C U C K, his work used to be good.
>>77486239
Homestuck
Fuck
Oh damn, In Sonicnia or Sonic's Basement. one of the few comics that didn't insert OC and felt more like slice of life.
>>77486239
8-bit theater, I think. I kinda found it, CAD, VG Cats, and xkcd all at the same time.
>>77486239
Oots
Probably something on Mystical Forest Zone
Insonicnia, That's My Sonic, Get Blue Spheres, etc.
Going even further back you get to Dr Schnapps and Dungeon Studios, which I doubt anyone on /co/ even remembers.
Concerned. One of the earlier Gmod comics.dat fucking ending though
It's either RPGWorld, Elf Only Inn, or The Life of Reilly. I don't remember which came first.
TLoR was never any good and only got more cringeworthy as they tried to make their storylines more complex, EOI was fun but went to shit when it became a WoW parody, and RPGWorld was actually pretty good.
>>77498301
Fucking top-tier comic right here
>>77496516
The art sort of reminds me of Wonderella, but other than that I'm drawing a blank here.
What is it?
>>77498603
It's one of the few things from high school that I do not regret
Bob and George... Actually made me wanna come up with my own comic. That idea failed hard, but hey I had a good laugh out of these at the time.
>>77496975
Basically "ancient 4chan memes: the comic"
>>77486239
8 bit theater, I think.
>>77486239
This was the very first comic on the web I read.
Don't know if it counts since it was a motion comic.
>>77490314
It's okay friend... I remember being a teen and falling for that schlock too... I mean the way he drew buildings was pretty good. That's all I can defend though.
>>77490572
I am a great magician!
>>77494301
Dave Anez was my hero back in the day. I asked him about how he gets away with the copyright dealing and his response was this:
"For big corporations, like Capcom, the cost of a lawsuit is probably too
high to bother. Now, if I turned Roll turn a crack-whore who sold herself
to Bass for a quick hit... then they might send me a cease-and-desist. But
as long as the parody is fan-related, what's the harm?"
XKCD or C&H. I missed out on the early golden age of the internet thanks to my shitty parents.
RT comics reporting in.
Probably Girl Genius.
>>77493273
I remember this!
>>77498301
Still have the entire thing saved on a hard drive somewhere. One of the best for sure.
I started with vgcats myself after browsing the Nintendo forums around 2002-3, from there, quickly branched out, hit most vgrelated ones, and saw so many comics die over the years.
Who remembers:
Slackers
Blue Zombie
Lumia's Kingdom
Alan
Konsekai: Swordwaltzer
Nine Shot Sonata
Alien Loves Predator
Chuggworth
Cup of Suffering
Man, I used to read a lot of webcomics in highschool/college. Lot of bad ones too. Nowadays its just the old instinctive reads like Sam and Fuzzy and Ma3.
Slight freelance, circa 2000.
It was rather two kinds or BCB for me I remember that they were super popular and had ads on all sorts of sites I checked them out and started reading webcomcis but I have put that part of my life behind me
>>77499218
I remember Alien Loves Predator and Chuggworth. I've never heard of any of the other ones.
Prob read something before it, but the first one I read all the way through was fan boys when I was 12.
I can't remember what my first webcomic was.
It was some weird sci-fi furry comic that was kind of like Xenogears with anthros. At one point the protagonist warps to Earth and gets involved in the VHS/Beta conflict for a couple of chapters.
There was another chapter where the protagonist's best friend climbs down into the planet's lightless core and slumbers for eternity.
>>77495975
Yeah it is kind of a clusterfuck accept if you pay attention but i love it.
OP's First Comic
First forum I joined: Ozy and Millie
I was there when DC Simpson changed genders.Disclaimer: I am not a furry. I do not find them sexually attractive and I do not have a fursona. They are merely another way of telling a story only with animal characters instead.
>>77498624
It's early Scary Go Round by John Allison.
Link: http://www.scarygoround.com/sgr/ar.php?date=20020606 . Before it was Bobbins, and afterwards he launched Bad Machinery and then some "new Bobbins".
Doemain of Our Own
I think I read that to its conclusion.
>>77496730
You remember. :3c
God. I was angry and frustrated with that fucking comic for at least a year before it finally came to a close, but I felt I had to end it "properly" out of some sense of duty to the readers.
The OP posted a page from something I'm currently running. Must be a reader since it seemed to go up almost immedietely after I slapped it on the site. I have no illusions about it being some great work of art. I just have fun doing it.
>>77496027
Yeah I need to work on the pants.
>>77494887
WHAT
>>77501444
Hey Z OP Here
Nice Comic. It's Okay. I've read like one page before this. It just happened to be on the front page of Smackjeeves when I visited. Nice Trips.
What does /co/ think of Loading Artist?
>>77486239Grim Tales
not proud of it.
>>77501666
>Nice Comic.
Don't lie to me like that.
No but seriously thanks. Honestly I'm just happy to see people outside of SJ even read sprite comics in general anymore.
>>77496975
It's a comic series that used to be hosted on 4chan. The actual comics are almost impossible to find now.
>>77501762
The medium you work with is terrible and shitty. End it. Nao.
>>77499218
I read Slackers, Blue Zombie and Chugworth
I remember Alien Loves Predator but only because it was namedropped in [sic] Productions
>>77500453
Wait what the fuck, but she's married to someone named Orv.
Does the comic itself talk about the issue?
>>77501813
>>77496351
Yeah, somewhere between Sluggy, Userfriendly and Penny Arcade.
Here are 2 comics I made http://www.theduckwebcomics.com/A_Dynasty_of_Random_Megaman/4782563/
http://www.theduckwebcomics.com/Tales_of_a_Song/4796151/
They aren't good, but they exist
>>77496351
>tfw spent an entire summer catching up with sluggy only to become bored with it again
>tfw that was roughly 8 years ago
I think it was either one of Willis' work or Penny Arcade.
>>77501882
One day, he put out a LJ post saying I'm not David Craig Simpson anymore, I feel more comfortable as a woman. I'm Dana Claire Simpson now. Our Response: "Uh. Good for you." *Awkward Face*
She delete the link to the fan forum on the comic's website at the end.
I also saw Novil from Sandra and Woo get mad at a "10" year old that stumbled onto the forum. He bullied that kid and started cursing out furries as well. Our Response: Why are you on this forum anyway?
>>77502274
That's hilarious, is it still out there?
>>77502274
Novil is everywhere. He posts here too.
>>77502274
It appears the forum is dead. They still have an IRC still going at Spicy Lemon. I loved that place. Made so many friends there.
It was either this or Bob and George and I am pretty sure it was this.
>>77502376
Wow that's no lie, I googled and he's everywhere, even in the bad webcomics wiki.
>>77502670
He was here yesterday or the day before, in the Aaron Diaz thread iirc. Uses a name.
Some other creators are similar. Kazerad of Prequel lurks basically every possible place where Prequel is discussed. He even has people help him locate discussions. Dude just really wants to talk to his audience.
>>77486239
IIt's still updating. Wow.
>>77495853
never read it but faith erin hicks is pretty good so i'm sure it's at least decent.
>>77502990
I remembered reading a strip in a similar vein called Friend Bear.
http://friendbear.com/
Last update was 2014, though. Apparently Pokey the Penguin started in 1998 and Friend Bear was 1999, so I guess it was just a big ripoff.
This thread is taking me back.
13 years old. 2003. The same year I discovered heavy metal and furry porn.

Most everyone fell off the net in like 2012. I'm not sure any "community" still remains that doesn't communicate exclusively off-site.
a doemain of our own. i wonder if it still holds up
Drshnaps
I'd probably read some of the comics on it for pure nostalgia if the site didn't shut down
I don't even know what the owner's up to now

>What became of it?
the relentless march of time. Space Moose started in 1989; its death predated 4chan's birth by half a decade.
>>77505127
It's definitely a lot smaller, but it's still there. Shard, Dregan, Myself, and of course the relatively small reader-base. You get a new face occasionally as well.

>first webcomic you read?
Sexy Losers, except it was called Thin H Line at the time. it disappeared after i'd been reading it for a year or so; not exactly sure at what point it resurfaced with the new name.
I can't remember the first but I think for a brief time I read this comic called Furthia High. It wasn't very good (even after the author rebooted the story).
I hung around the forums for a brief bit and Immelman was part of the community. Just about every general thread he started was bait and the most insolent way. He'd make threads about how terrible white people are and how everything would be better if we systematically killed off all white people. He was a shit and I don't know why the author put up with that shit.

I recently went back and read that comic.
Some of its still good, but its definitely a product of its time. Namely late 90s-early 2000s furry culture.
It built up some mighty impressions of Amigas, that's for sure.
I couldn't tell ya how long I read this thing. Maybe for five years or more.
This was interesting, but the comic it's incomplete, I never saw the other chapters
What's with webcomics and furries. There is a massive overlap apparently

This or Purple Pussy.
It took me way longer than it should have to pick up on Danny-boy's shaving fetish.
>>77507048
I recall the earliest webcomics all being about furries.
>>77507048
I think furries were one of the biggest early adopters of the Internet, so it makes sense some of the first big webcomics involved anthros in one way or another.
>>77507047
>>77507194
She carried it on in her newer comics too.
May it never die
I don't read it day by day anymore but I get caught up every couple of months
I think I was an early buyer too. I was a member of Keenspot for a long time and I have a few stories about linkara.
>>77507047
I can only assume that years later they would go on to work on Sonic Boom.
>>77507464
forgot pic

>I have a few stories about linkara
Go on...
>>77486239
Elf Only Inn and Darken. I got recommended both by a friend so started them the same day.
I actually miss them both, but at least Darken had a true ending. EOI just...stopped.
>>77507349
>>77507499
Yeah this is fucking incredible because when Sonic Boom was annonced, this reminded me immediatly this old webcomic which I had completly forgot
>>77498543
>EOI
My nigga.

I reread their archives last weekend. It is amazing how long this seems. It is long as fuck at over a thousand pages, but it feels like three times that in content.
Mostly because WORDS WORDS WORDS can deliver jokes and exposition at high density but still. I'll miss it when it finally fishes. And I hope Rich told someone how it is going to go in case he dies suddenly. He's middle aged and has some kind of chronic brain fluid pressure health problem doesn't he?

>lame attempt to look like a badass
Oh, the irony
Oh boy a smackjeeves thread
>>77507507
>furry 40k
That was always weird to me.
>>77508068
Well it did come out before the whole "suffer not the furry to live" meme
>>77507944
I will say this: There's no drama like sprite comic community drama.
>>77508333
The mass spriter banning of 09 was something else
that one about the Thick Anthro Cow running a farm with other busty anthro girls.
you know the one.I still look at it. the writing is shit but my dick wont let me stop. Large cow tits get me going
>>77507944

I feel like I'm missing something here

The biggest one is while Linkara was developing Lightbringer he would roost in art critique threads. He was convinced that the secret to drawing good was just one special guideline, that the complexity of drawing could be reducted to a single rule. When people told him otherwise he would outright ignore them.
At one point one of the more prominent members of the community told him off for his naive idea of how to grow as an artist and he just deflected that criticism too. A few people came to his defense, which was unnecessary.
>>77509139
Yeah that sounds like him
>>77508367
the legend of the sonic vs nazo spriter holocaust is a tale that will echo for eons
>>77508403
Ask us about Sonic vs. Nazo.
Go ahead.
Ask us.
>>77507944
Also hi StU ~<3
>>77509323
I'm torn between disliking Linkara for that kind of bullshit, yet liking him for being one of two remaining CA members who hasn't become a complete shithead over the past few years.
>>77494028
Oh
my
fucking
god
I remember I casually read parts of this like a zillion years ago but got too bored to follow and eventually forgot what the name was.
This is giving me major flashbacks. Like when I found out "Emotion Eric" still exists.
First comic I probably read was Sinfest. It still hurts occasionally.
>>77507640
> EOI
Holy shit it's been years
Man there's been a lot of good obscure webcomics in this thread. Next thread should be a "Obscure but good webcomic" thing
>>77486239
Elftor, circa 2000-2001
>>77510859
Mah boi!
>>77510464
If you told me three years ago Linkara was gonna be one of more reasonable members of CA, I probably wouldn't have believed you.
