Marvel would have to try really fucking hard to disassociate GR from those godawful Nic Cage films. Anything they make would have to be, like, Batman Begins next to Batman & Robin in terms of quality.

That's why I say go the ANGR route. Distance from New York means no ones asking where the Avengers or Daredevil is, helmet with flame effects would be cheaper effects wise, and much more distunct from Nic Cage films.

Why do people say stuff like this? No one is gonna associate with Nic Cage because it doesn't fucking have Nic Cage in it. People are not as stupid as you think.
Batman itself is absolute proof that you can't really poison a brand in that way. People expected the '89 movie to be Batman discoing and buttfucking Robin, now people can't even believe Batman was ever not grimdark.
If you make something that's good, nobody is gonna mistake it for the old, bad thing.
