Well, here's a lil guide.
For TV capping - get a good capture device. For HD, a first gen Hauppauge is pretty safe, considering it can record in 1080i 5.1 from Component inputs. Use the capture device that comes with it, or the Hauppauge one you can find on their site. Now, I take it you aren't a very experience encoder, right? So if you do plan to cap stuff and share it, I would just share your raw recordings. The Hauppauge can record at 13.5mbps, or roughly 6GB/hour, depending on your audio bitrate. I would record whatever it is you want to record at that, make a MEGA burner with Yopmail, and uploiad your files there. There are many experience encoders at that site, so someone will encode it for you.
For DVD rips - Use MakeMKV to make MKVs from whatever DVDs/DVD you have. Upload them, untouched to a MEGA burner, and share that at the site. Someone will def encode it for you if you ask.
Just share whatever you can basically. Even if it ain't perfect, someone will speak up and help you out. Have fun.
