I wouldn't call it bad but it wasn't very good. It turned into a boring scavenger hunt and they kept killing off or squandering their interesting characters.
Rewatching most of the no-Shia scenes of Transformers 3, I actually kind of liked it. It had crazy conspiracies, robots doing some things in the background (moreso than the second one) and at least three scenes that had robots only (Ratchet and Prime in the Ark, Prime and Sentinel in the desert, the intro). Like all of the movies, it was still definitely a disappointment out of how much they could've done and how much they could've traded the humans filler for robot filler.
