Either the government will put him somewhere if the court deems it (lord knows he won't apply for assisted living himself - he obviously doesn't know how to) or he'll rot on the street homeless. He has no one else to take him in. He can't make enough money to sustain himself, mostly due to sheer inability to do anything that's not playing video games and scribbling, and people won't buy nearly enough of his merchandise to keep him afloat.

The way that a traditional patron system works, some rich dude sponsors a poor dude to make artwork. If the poor dude doesn't make art, the rich dude pulls his funding, thus giving motivation.
With the patreon system, while some people might pull their support if the artist doesn't do their job, the majority of people can be counted on to be absolutely fucking terrible and will gladly throw their money into a bottomless pit, and scream down anybody who tries to tell them otherwise. Often they'll /reward/ poor behavior, like Akabur, who released a godawful fucking excuse for a 'sequel' to his porn game that in no way stands up to the original, with barely any actual porn contained in a single hardly interactive room and nothing but ridiculous amounts of grind and the shreds of blatantly, openly-statedly unfinished content to show for the long wait. His patreon went from around 7k a month to 9k a month immediately after release.
