ITT: Forgotten movies that don't deserve to be
>Released same weekend as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
They couldn't have cared less about the film, even though it only cost $30m.
Also it was like an hour and twenty minutes with the Nessie short. I loved it but its fucking expensive on bluRay still

>can you tie a knot?
>>77422267
I can knot.
But what I was originally going to say was, the main reason this movie seems to have been made was to give Robert and Kristin Lopez a chance to show Disney that they can write a family-friendly musical (since their reputation had been built on Avenue Q) before they could be assigned to Frozen.

Are you me? I was just about to post this. Legend of Sirius from the same studio is also pretty good.

Well jesus where have you been all my life. I only found out that movie's name just recently in a /co/ thread.

I remember this. Damn, I remember walking into the theater for the next movie and I remember the ending scene having really good animation.

I-I was him. I thought you might be that guy that'd been looking for it that time, but I sorta hoped a third person had heard of it.

Love that background
I do not understand why this movie doesn't get more love.
>qt3.14 chocolate princess
>the hands down BEST villain design
>When I'm Human and Dr. Facilier song were fucking GOAT
>dat blonde girl
>story, setting, theme, characters, songs, etc. are drenched in that classic Disney charm
>MOST, not all, most characters are likable
>dem spoopy shadow ghosts
I think the movie was overshadowed by the whole "OOHHHH BLACK PRINCESS" ordeal, but it really stands up against some of Disney's heavy hitters.

Never seen it. Guess I'll buy it legally later tonight and give it a shot.

>tfw the online game is more remembered than the movie is
>>77424027
This, it's only slightly short of being Renaissance-tier imo.
>>77422677
I know I want to "go to town" on that QT
>>77424027
The art was superb, and the movie was solid overall. And, I certainly had no problem with a black princess. But, it just didn't grab me. Honestly, I found it to be fairly unmemorable.
>>77424302
It's alright.

Did the animation team of this largely work on the Goofy Movie?
I've never verified it, but always felt it.
>>77424928
I don't know. If not, it still makes sense the designs feel similar. I get the feeling the animal people in Rock and Rule were modeled after classic Disney anthro characters like Goofy, Pete, and Mickey on purpose as a sort of mockery.
As a side note, I love how R&R has an explanation for a world of anthro animals living in a human civilization. I don't mind at all pretending Goofy Movie takes place in the same universe, just in nicer neighborhoods.

They already established that when they wrote the Finding Nemo musical for Animal Kingdom.
Winnie the Pooh was meant to be a soft franchise reboot after shit like that crappy CG show with the little girl.

this movie is totally spies levels of fetishism
anthro-animals notwithstanding

Absolute GOAT film.
>>77424027
It might have been race, but I think it may have also been a) traditional animation being dead b) being followed up by Tangled, the 50th Walt Disney Animation Studios film and the first actually good CG Disney movie; I think it was their first movie in 3D and c) The Princess and the Frog came after a series of Disney putting out really bad movies so people weren't hyped.

>Not into post-apocalyptic whale existensialism
come on, m8
>>77426052
I do not remember Sampson and Sally being that fetishy. Like, I remember Sampson ate an octopus and they got trapped under and oil spill and I'm sure those are somebody's fetishes. But I don't remember the whales wearing diapers or experiencing breast inflation or getting tied up with ropes or dressing like clowns or other fetish checklist stuff I'd put on Totally Spies tier.
