Interesting take on the WW origin.
Most Amazons are mortal. Hippolyta and a select few Amazons are immortal, which apparently gives them the right to rule.
Those mortal Amazons are blessed with children, while the immortals are not. The clay origin seems to be in place, too, so that means that Diana is doubly different from her mother: apparently mortal and made from clay.

This was... okay... I guess? Really it's too short to form anything resembling a firm opinion, but there are elements to this that are at least interesting. The artwork has a storybook look and feel to it, and Young Diana herself at first impression seems sullen and brooding and burdened with purpose, which is a contrast from the joyful child of Wonder we usually get. Not sure what to think about the other young Amazons, they seem pretty thin but again this is so short it's hard to think they'd be anything other than. At least De Liz is drawing heavily upon mythology rather than shying away from it.

Yup, Hyppolyta was his daughter and the amazons answered to him. They were cut-off from Greek society and barbaric. Since Ares represented the more violent untamed aspect of war, something that the Romans later changed. Ares being her father was a pretty big aspect of the character. She wore a magical girdle of power as waist belt, given to her by Ares, her father, and this magical girdle not only boost her strength but also signified her authority as queen of the Amazons. It was this magical girdle that created the whole mess with Herakles, since one of his labors was to steal it.
In most versions she's impressed with Herakles and gives him her girdle without trouble. It is the goddess Hera, who appears disguised as one of the Amazons, who spread a rumor among the amazons that Heracles and his crew were abducting their queen forcing them to attack Herakles' gang. Here the myths defer a lot. There is one where Herakles kill her right on the spot, other she and Herakles run off together, another where she runs with Therseus and they marry, some where her sister runs with Therseus ans she follows them creating a war and so on.

A little light on the content, but to be expected for a 10-page digital first that's only $1. It incorporated the mythology well and the art is looking good with a storybook feel. Though it's seemingly a purposefully light and so far average story, it's miles above what the Finches are putting out. So yeah, this is getting my $1. If the rest of the issues are good, I wouldn't mind picking up the physical for my daughter.

The scheduling on this WW book seems odd though. Bombshells had their first digital issue in July and then the first floppy collection of those in August but this one has the first digital one in November with the floppies not starting until January. Maybe she just needs more time though since it's only one person doing both art and writing?
