Seconding Wakfu. The start is admittedly slow, but once you hit the midseason Nox expo, shit gets real. The animation also gets noticeably better throughout the season.

The setting in AT or SU is much more interesting to me than the DC universe. They also have a pretty unique, minimalist design sense and the right amount of weird. I'm all into surrealism and besides the Maxx which panders to that the most, those shows are the closest. Plus, in general I'm more interested in original titles (not based on other media).

I know it's a popular opinion not to like the new AT, but I'd say the new seasons had some of the best lore-building episodes and some of the weirdest ones. I know people disliked the romance elements, but I don't mind in fact some of those eps are good. Most importantly my favorite characters Jake, Marceline and Ice King are still great and more background has been added to them making them even better. Finn changed, but that's obvious since he's not an adult like the rest of the cast. I'm really hyped for Stakes

PLEASE watch Green Lantern: the Animated series.
God knows I've never given a shit in my life about anything superhero related, but it was actually fucking great from beginning to end.
Halfway through it has a mid-season ending and you think "that was great!" But then it escalates even more until the final confrontation happens on the Hand of God himself. Literally. really. In a cartoon.
It's actiony, it takes itself seriously when it needs to, and it's overall really great.
Although it's cancelled it feels like a cohesive, single storyline.
It's not one of those weird stories that pops on and off and goes nowhere. It's like watching a very long, cohesive movie. Especially the second half.
At the end I wasn't even mad it was cancelled. It ended on a very conclusive note, although there would be room to tell more stories.

Wakfu's got flaws but also plenty of good stuff and some serious themes. Probably one of the darkest finally's in a kids show.

I just like shows where there is more of focus on the story and setting and not comedy. My favorite shows Aeon Flux and the Maxx were adult-oriented but unlike stuff like Futurama, Simpsons, South Park etc. they weren't all about parodies and jokes
