God, I remember being so excited for this. Then the Avengers tease at the end made me so giddy.

Now it just feels wasted.
>>
I wasn't excited for anything until about Iron Man 2. That's when it started looking like the shared universe plan wasn't actually bullshit. To be q honest, familia, the shared universe is what makes these films so good. Guardians can stand on its own in glory but overall, the universe is what does it.

This movie is largely what got me into big two comics, I was mostly going to the 'adult graphic novel' section of my library before and getting weird stuff. But this got me into Marvel and DC, whether that's good or bad....lately started getting all my comics from the library again so read far less Marvel and DC again

That one.

The MCU is in no way a good universe and the comparison to Star Trek is laughable considering that the Star Trek universe was built up from scratch without any clear goal in mind. They created a setting with numerous rich and complex characters and entire distinct cultures. The world that was created and the little restrictions imposed allowed them to do whatever kind of story they want with any kind of tone would best fit the author's vision.

MCU is over 80 percent action comedies and references with everybody being related to SHIELD or Hydra. This sucks ass as it is, but there's not even a fraction of the potential that Star Trek has for stories.
>>
>>77403000
They don't want to put in the time or money that it would take to earn the money Marvel movies make.

That's why they're trying to introduce fucking everyone in one goddamn movie instead of building up to it.

It's going to fail spectacularly and it deserves to. I don't even read Marvel stuff and their cinematic universe is so much better it's not even funny.
>>

Wow! You refuted my post with RT scores! Great job! I'm glad you explained how the MCU is a good universe for telling stories!
>>
>>77398723

You must be underage, or simply have a serious case of bad taste.
>>
>>77399584

The fact that any Marvelfag only gives WS and Daredevil as example of the "amazing" universe the MCU is, is an indicator of how shitty it is. And not because they're bad, but because those 2 are the only redeemable things in this mess.
>>
>>77402747

It's funny, because all those Marvel movies are generic and blockbuster territory, too. If RT people weren't as biased as they are, those scores would be the same as MOS.
>>
>>77406095
>>77406095

>>
>>77406308
RT is unbiased by design.
>>
>>77406244
Not that guy but the only meh films the MCU has produced is Iron Man 2 and Incredible Hulk and The Dark World.

Hell I would say Avengers and Winter Soldier sit on top of the genre and the Iron Man trilogy is better than Nolan's Batman trilogy (razor thin margins though). If based Russo's deliver though the Captain America trilogy will easily become the best capeshit trilogy.
>>

>>

No it wasn't. Much better cinematography tho.
>>
>>77406364

And the reviews are done magically? There are people doing it. Probably not RT per se, but the people doing the reviews in other sources are biased as fuck.

And, if you think for a second, that any Thor movie is better than MOS, then you must be really really retarded.
>>
>>77406404
It was actually.

Thor is legitimately the worst Marvel movie, with Thor 2 is as a close second.
>>

TDK was the sweet spot as far as trying to take comic movies in a serious direction and all subsequent efforts to push the envelope have been hilarious failures.

The biggest reason people don't like TDKR or MoS isn't just that they're bad, as the poeple obsessed with comparing them to the relatively bad MCU movies get uptight over. It's that they overreach and insult your intelligence. If Thor thought it was cinematic brilliance rather than pulp trash people would probably hate it more too.
>>

>being pissed
You have implied too much from my posts tripfag

>that any Thor movie is better than MOS, then you must be really really retarded.

Both Thor's are better than MoS.

Better pacing.
Better direction.
Better lead performances.
Better casting.
Better performances from the rest of the cast.
Better dialog.
Thor 1 had a much better villain.
More create action set pieces.
More fleshed out/relatable/interesting hero character.
Better Story (especially the first Thor)
Re-watchable.
.
.And for me personally the introduction of Hawkeye.
>>
>>77399584
Having a shared universe is fine, but universes can be expansive and wide. What made Daredevil so good was how unrestrained it was. It fit neatly into existing chronology and didn't upset anything filmwise, and in being unrestrained in that way it pursued a different tone and direction.

Despite being within the same universe Marvel and DC can approach wildly different styles and tones. You can have a universe where there are gods, monsters, magic, science, and Section 8 in the fucking comics. But the Marvel Cinematic Universe has one tone and one flavor. Maybe we want a faithful adaptation of the story, not an assimilation through the MCU lens.

Marvel has done more to diversify their films tone that either Fox, Sony or wb/dc.

From:

Idealized 1940's romp with a dash a propaganda.

To Sci Fi/Fugitive monster smash hybrid.

To tech sci fi action comedy with war profiteering, terrorists controlling suicide bombing narratives underneath.

To fish out of water fantasy.

To Three Days of the Condor inspired action political thriller (seriously bravo Marvel) which is an amazing marker of how America was(is) at the time.

To a modern Buckaroo Banzai space Opera.

To a small story about fathers and their daughters.

To massive team-up blowout, combining story threads from several other films into 1.

And there is more diversity to come

Where as Fox(X-men) has been doing the same plot for 15 years, lets not even talk about their F4 fare.

And WB is looking to, once again, Ape Nolan for BvS and SS after they already misused it in MoS.

Yes experiences are finite, and time moves on. Mature people accept this and can find other things to enjoywhile being able to look back on the things they enjoyed in the past reasonably and rationally.

It's unfortunate that shitty manchildren such as yourself are incapable of grasping this.

Good, cause it would be awful to have to relive the first time I read your post.
>>
>>77407463

Get creative. They are already behind the eight-ball with actually making an Aquaman movie, if that thing does not look conceptually unique it's DOA because the lead they picked damn sure isn't going to save it. Similar situation with Wonder Woman except there have been A LOT of Hollywood Swords and Sandals films.

I'd think it's more like it won't be particularly well reviewed, they do however have enough name recognition to bring in plenty of people just to see how they did.

Thing is they had to salvage the cinematic universe from a film they hadn't planned on including and not from another one that they did as I recall. Have they decided on John Stewart of Hal Jordan for Green Lantern this time around I wonder?
