It's got both Carol Danvers and America Chavez in it, man. No one will want to read it here.
>>

Isn't she just the greatest you guys? Best character EVER

I hate to sound petty but America really makes me want to drop Ultimates if her unearned wank keeps up
>>
>>77385175
At this point her power is simply out-Mary Sueing others. She's on the same team as Blue Marvel and Captain Marvel and she still manages to be a bigger Mary Sue.
>>

>We're the ultimate team for ultimate solutions, and we're ending your hunger!

Really. Galactus has been around since the beginning of the universe, and across all of space and billions of years five literally who's (on a universal scale) know how to cure the devourer of his need to devour. When other races who've known galactus for millenia longer haven't.

Is Cosmic Marvel usually this small-scale? Reed Richards is just the smartest man ON EARTH right, he's not the smartest guy in the entire universe?
>>
>>77385391
Never underestimate the power of Affirmative Action.
Their plan to stop Galactus is probably just march on Washington or something
>>

This is the same Black Panther that, a few years ago, could put Silver Surfer in submission holds. And that was before he had a confirmed movie.

Color me impressed, my colored friend.

Okay, wanking America is a bit iffy, but I think the characterizations are pretty awesome.
T'Challa is pure hubris and nationalism, Carol is a cocksure cosmic jock (she unthinkingly destroyed her means of getting home to show off), Spectrum set up as the straight woman in this circus of boundless egos.
And I am somewhat convinced that Ms America will experience a kind of setback soon.
Some kind of influence that demonstrates a weakness.

She technically never really lost that ability of hers.
She just used to lack control of it and well, didn't have the energies necessary to do that on Earth.
But she went Binary in that Secret Avengers arc where she met Mar-Vell again and decided to use the Captain moniker.

I agree that Galactus is necessary, but that's fucking stupid and makes no sense, and has NEVER been a reason expressed in any comic

I don't mind America being about to move at sublight.

A lot of flying bricks who operate in space should be able to do that or move at FTL. Nova, Carol, Thor, Iron Man. If they'be flown in space between Star systems then they should be able to go FTL

Which honestly doesn't make what America is doing here all that impressive. What's Monica saying "I've never seen anything like this before"

Kamala, Beast Boy, Kid Devil, Cassie Lang who's not a hero anymore because muh mcu Lang angst, maybe Stargirl but she's rarely in anything, Dorothy Spinner who wasn't relevant since the 90s, that's more or less it, and majority of these aren't even Marvel where teen heroes are usually flavor of the week mutants who die fast

In that same fucking page there's a character that's always fucked over, Monica was the first woman Captain Marvel, and they made her give the name to the original Captain Mar-vell's son, and that same fucker would start using the other alias she used when she gave the first one up.

Yep, exactly. >Superman is THE superhero, not A superhero
I could pick any superhero here. All of them get riduculous feats all the time - Captain America beating super Skrull, Thor and Strange blowing up planets, Hercules making planet tremble, Hulk blowing up an asteroid. But the moment you give them to a woman /co/ starts bitching and whining.
You people are pathetic.
>The thing is that she's simply not a likeable character, not because she's a woman, not because she's lesbian, not because she's a poc, but simply because she's an unlikable cunt, as seen here
Dude, you guys liked her in Young Avengers, I know because I was there reading storytimes, you only hate her now because she is on Ultimates. Bet once A-Force comes out you will start saying the same things about Nico, as if Runaways never had a fandom here, just because you cannot stand there is push to non-white women. By /co/'s logic woman is on front doing more than being fanservice and she is immeidiatelly unlikeable cunt who has no personality and never had any good stories. Shit like that is why /co/ is laughingstock of the internet.

Most people are whining about Monica not getting attention, not about Carol or lack of white dudes on team. Black people are kinda... more poc, as stupid as it sounds, that lations who technically aren't a race so to speak, it's just the flaw in American politics and critical race theory that makes them seen as such (by the same logic Irish and Slavs weren't really white 100 years ago)

I don't like all of them. But I enjoy a lot of them. And some of them I don't - I couldn't ever get into Sam Alexander for example, I cannot get into Spider-Gwen either. I couldn't get into Generation Hope or Wolverine & the X-Men or even Spider-Man & the X-men and it had two kids that I actually liked. But I enjoy a large number of it, especially since I enjoy very little of other parts of Marvel so I tend to look in areas I know I like stuff from.
And you know what? "Yay! They're all teens!" is still ebtter sthandard than who will last for next 30 years or who sells 100k issues or who has brand recognition. So then after they see people are ok with that, he gets to do the same sort of stuff with Spider-Man because they trust him and all of a sudden OH SHIT, HE LOST HIS TOUCH.

Also, Cable and X-Force was like, the third best X-book when it was running. Better than Bendis, better than Aaron, better than Wood.

>>
>>77388281
C&XF sucked, he turned Cable into glorified radio.

>How do you know it's not the other way around?
Because
a) both people in and outside of Marvel admitted so - both Tom Brevoort and Walt SImmonson, when asked about latter's return to writing Thor, had, separately from each other, said that when Walt was writing Thor, God fo Thunder has been seen as a nobody by Marvel editorial, same like they'd see Hercules today at best, so they let Simmonson do whatever the hell he wanted. These days Thor is a household name so all comics about him have strong editorial control.
b) And if you seriously compare books written by writers with C-listers and A-Lsiters they you can often see that what made former great is still there but restrained, nuttered and "safe", not allowed to go all the way out. Some elements of Slott's strength in She-Hulk can be seen in his Spider-Man but feel held back, a lot.

Iso-8, for the people that don't play shitty f2p games is a magic mcguffin that does literally everything and everybody fights over. The idea that someone got a power boost out of nowhere is totally plausible now that they tossed this out there.

You get enough Iso-8, you can make Hyperion bleed by stabbing him with a broken bottle.

Not that anon, but Superman has been around for decades, before becoming the best he had to earn respect from his readers, he slowly grew into their hearts, if he saves the day when even other heroes couldn't it's fine, because he is fucking Superman, he can still be called a Mary sue sometimes, same thing goes for Batman (and rightfully so, his whole stitch outside his own series is to be a walking plot armor meme) but deep inside he's still a great superhero. He's iconic, he's a pillar of the genre, he did a lot of great things in his stories, he didn't start by entering in the League and bust their asses showing that he is the best at everything, by that point he was already great.
America didn't do anything to prove that she's a good hero, she did jackshit compared to Superman at least, so the comparison between them is really fucking poor, she just showed up to be better than anyone, the main problem with OCs is that they tell and don't show, which is comic books done wrong.

I'm fine with the characters. I actually liked blue marvel's mini a lot.

I like that marvel is starting to stress how strong some of their characters are.

The writer of the blue marvel mini said BM was stronger than superman, weaker than Thor. As Binary, Ms Marvel is really strong. But I don't like having to pretend she's that relevant or that great. She's always gone back and forth between a and b list. But now we have to see that she's top tier and I don't like being forced to take that seriously, after she's had so many chances and really failed to impress.

Never got into Ms America. Monica... I don't know too much about. Black Panther is pretty cool but there isn't much tension with panther. He always has an out, he's too haxed he's is a comic character. I love batman. Now I see why people say that about Batman, difference is Batman has his demons and his failings. He's more real to me.

Not a big ewing fan but I'm willing to give the book a shot.

> there isn't much tension with panther
The tension will come from his interactions with Adam. T'Challa is a "thinks he knows best" type of characters, while Adam seems to despise anyone with that mindset.
>>
>>77390345
I hope we see this. I'm saying inside T'Challa, not his interactions with other characters. I'm sayin T'Challa's a bit too perfect really, he's that guy who gets a A and is mad he didn't get an A+ that isn't tension.

Ewing can be good and bad. He strives towards writing the big "ideas" and I'm sympathetic to that. But he also just falls in love with his characters and doesn't let them do any wrong. And I don't like that so much.
>>
>>77387553

I loved Secret Six and Birds of Prey before SJW was even a commonly known word, but this is not great. Also, Black Panther being Batman is the least creative way you can take him. Make him a leader of a state in a way that is meaningful, not just LOL we have batcaves and more cash than god.

Gotta give a reason for why a mid-tier character is rolling with planet destroyers, except... you know, Ewing dosen't explain why she's this powerful.
It's almost as if Ewing is acting like Chavez has a pedigree like the other characters to fill in on what makes her badarse and awesome when she dosen't have much history like Carol or in-story history like BM.

What a blemish on an otherwise enjoyable issue.

>About as violent
Not even close

Yesss, it's not going to be bland action it's going to be a team that's actually fixing shit.

Why not?

I will drop this book like a hot microwave plate the instant that happens if I still don't get a reason why a physical character like Chavez can move near light speed.
Carol can't move light speed and I'd consider her a heavy hitter.

I really don't mind it, it's not like Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt where we were left on a fuck-you/pay-me cliff hanger; it's pretty self contained.

mfw P&SwG S2 never ever

She'll get/has gotten all fucked up on ISO-8.

(Also Carol can travel FTL as Binary)

It's probably something like 10 or 20% of lightspeed then

Binary makes sense cus Carol loses her physical form when that happens, I'll be happy with an Iso-8 reasoning, but I don't want random anime power ups in my comic books.

I'd say slower. Speed of sound is about 350 m/s and I assume she's still subsonic. Of coruse thats about 900000 slower than c.

Rocafort deserves a medal

This nigga made bald bitches look sexy
>>
They should have put Rocafort on X-Men. This comic is shit
>>
>>77386976
That doesn't justify killing them off, cause let's face it 99% of the time when anyone dies in a superhero comic it's awful and drags down the quality of the comic

>Carol yet again using black people just to boost her powers.

This book would be so great, even worth purchasing if Carol wasn't in it.
