Yes, he's extreme and yes he draws weird figures.
If you can forgive Quietly's horrible figure's and Ross' static cosplay-like style, why can't you do the same with Liefeld?

Not gonna defend Alex Ross, I'm not crazy about him either, but Lielfed suffers when it comes to storytelling as well. There're some pages from him that make no sense, fight scenes are choppy and hard to follow, and based entirely on pin-uppy static poses.
Compare that to Quitely's WE and Pax Americana. You may not like how the guy's art looks (and that's fair, I had to get used to his rough, wrinkly faces as well) but his compositions are majestic.

Quietly figures are the weakest part of his art though, everything else he's super strong at. Plus he's good at things a lot of supposedly great comic artists have a poor grasp of, like layouts and composition and there are few who have him beat.
