Terrible Edgy Tryhardness

Like a poor man's Vasquez

Skottie should stick to drawing, not writing

Stupid shit.

the main characters kills people who most of the time don't deserve to be killed. to the point that it starts to become so edgy.

Little girl who's actually a grown woman with stunted growth gets transported to a magical la-la land with sunshine and rainbows. She hates everything for reasons, so she proceeds to fuck everyone's shit up in boring ways.

Do you mean her growth was stunted WHEN she got transported to fairyland? Or she was stunted before she even got there?

Oh so all these people saying "edgy" are actually complimenting the book by reiterating the creator's intention?

Cause I thought they were just meme-ing about how unacceptable "the wrong kind of humor and violence" is in a medium that caters to teenagers in the first place.
>>
>>77362977
I don't know I barely even read the damn thing. I skimmed the storytime last week on /co/.
>>

After she got there. She was transported when she was actually a little girl, and has been there for 20 something years, still in a little girl's body.

read the first issue, didn't really care for it
which is sad really because there's a lot someone could door with child going into fairy tale land and it being dark and creepy. fairy takes themselves are already dark. I mean you have stuff like cinderella's stepsister cutting off her heel.
but the comic itself is just WATCH THIS WACKY CUTE "GIRL" VOMIT, FLIP PEOPLE OFF, AND KILL OTHER CUTE PEOPLE! LOOK HOW OUTRAGEOUS I AM!
if that's your thing then great, but the thing had no substance to me

I tried to read the comic, but I kept cutting my self on the comic's edge. My doctor told me I had to stop or I'd bleed out.

It is a very edgy comic. It is such an edgy comic, that I'm surprised DC didn't publish it. I could just imagine edgy Gertrude hanging out with edgy buzzcut Superman while riding on his edgy motorcycle and edgyly beating up LGBT with the edgy Batgirl. It would be so edgy.

>But is being edgy really a bad thing?

There're types and types of edge. When you're being edgy and you want people to take you seriously, you come across as a tryhard and stupid. But there're some authors that can pull off edge, and you get the idea that they're not taking it seriously as well, so it's more acceptable...

I think of Mark Millar.
Volume 1 od Ultimate Avengers is the kind of edgy bullshit that seems to think it's being cool and mature.
Ultimate Avengers II is so fucking over the top violent, brutal, tits and sex and satan and demons and cool oneliners that I get the feeling Millar himself wasn't taking it seriously, and it becomes enjoyable.
>>
The first issue was better than I thought.

All early indications made this look like some try-hard edgy comic where the little girl just goes around murdering with impunity, but there's actually a story there so, hey, lowered expectations can really help you enjoy something you thought you wouldn't have.

>>
>>77365299
If it were that easy why they just didn't completed it for her and sent her back when she started causing trouble? Why is there a law impeding the queen from harming the guests? I suspect that she was not supposed to survive to begin with. The entrance in the world was brutal, nobody cared about her wounds instead acting with indifference about her condition. Probably they make use of loopholes to kidnap and kill children. Since they can't kill directly they bring them through a huge fall and immediately send them in an impossible quest so they can die on their way.
>>
>>77365452
That's also the opposite of the premise
>>
>>77365487
Like if baiting and them taking to the opposite direction never happens in story telling right? The allies never turn out to actually be enemies right? But they said they come in peace at the begin of the movie!

>>
>>77365607
The queen is using loopholes to kill her. This is not a guess, it was right in the comic.
>>
Man, it's only been one issue, guys.

give it a chance to develop the world and premise. You'd complain there was too much exposition of they answered everything right away.
>>
He kinda went back on his premise, didn't he? Wasn't it supposed to be "How do kids in fairy tales deal with the inhabitants without going crazy and killing everything"?

Having her be an adult in a kid's body kinda messes with that point. It seems like a kid in mind and body doing that would be hard to pull off anyway because murdering everyone left and right would be the last thing on a child's mind.

>>77365452
>If it were that easy why they just didn't completed it for her and sent her back when she started causing trouble?

There seems to be a set of rules that some inhabitants have to follow regarding the children that fall down there. They might not actually be able to do that for her or else they would have by now.

You can't count out the fact that other kids down there and completed the quest with little to no problems in a time much shorter than Gert did, and It isn't impossible to think that She might just be really bad at what she was supposed to do to complete her journey. They even sent her off with someone who had a map.

As for the rule, the king that made that rule might have done so as a "Just in case" type of thing before any kids actually fell down there.

>>77365635
>The queen is using loopholes to kill her

Yeah but that didn't happen until after Gert violently killed the living moon and stars and their remains started raining down in her.

>You can't count out the fact that other kids down there and completed the quest with little to no problems in a time much shorter than Gert did
What kids? We haven't seen any of them.

>Yeah but that didn't happen until after Gert violently killed the living moon and stars and their remains started raining down in her.
Doesn't eliminates the possibility that the original plan was for her to die anyway. But since it failed she decided to do it herself just to be stopped by the law that she promptly evaded by using a loophole. If anything she seems pretty fast at finding and using loopholes.

Also the moon is not dead.
>>
>>77362990
It's supposed to be edgy. Everything that tries to be, "what if something cute for children did something adult or voilent" is. The problem is that by now, it's not a unique concept, and even then, being edgy for edgyness sake never has been interesting outside of the 10-17 age demographic.
>>
>>77362757
Boring premise, juvenile in the blandest way possible, and kind of one-note. The art is nice.
>>
>>77366120
Is the comic aimed at the 10-17 demographic?
>>
>>77365487
The premise that a magic world is not as nice as it sounds? It is spot on with the premise!
>>
>>77366821

The girl is just stupid
>>
>>77362934
This is a hyper-active 10 year old boy's idea of edgy. It's not all that edgy in comparison to most things but it's still kind of stupid if you don't have the same mindset.
>>
>>77366836
It isn't. It was made pretty clear from the begin where instead of entering the world in a happy and fun way she got in by a scary, brutal and painful way, nobody gave a shit that a small child had an exposed fracture, this "nice" world have prisons, dungeons and murders. You are just an idiot who needs everything written on your face to understand a story.

Shouldn't they be more scared of her them? In a nice world a devil start killing, devouring and destroying everything and in 30 years nobody managed to stop her. At this point people wouldn't try to stop her, they would just run for their lives. She would be the equivalent of a hurricane. When you see a hurricane you don't try to stop it, you just look for a safe place and hope that it will spare you.
