Still, he stopped coming up to me after services and two later she started getting really cold towards me. They aren't a glamerous animal.
They're a common one that avoids confrontation. They don't have a lot of mythology that comes with them, just biology.
So the typical "wolf", "deer", "cat", or similar groupings of tropes (for lack of a better word) don't exist.
They're long suffering family/community-oriented creatures. They're localized and can thrive just about anywhere.
So perfect for slice of life stories. In fact, take any slice of life story. Make the whole cast animals, protagonist is a possum. It totally works.
