I guess we know which comic is Brian going to leave next then.

Oh, also he will never leave Guardians of the Galaxy.
>>
im wondering how long these Star Wars books will continue to dominate the market. Star Wars #1 released in January and since then every SW book Marvel put out has debuted somewhere around the top 12. Marvel has a high market share cause they're putting out more books than ever before, while constantly flooding the market with shit tons of #1 issues. it looks good now yeah but in a few months i imagine most of these books will see more than 60% of their current order numbers down the crapper.

shit look at Iron Man. Issue 1 to Issue 2 is a 76% loss. for a book that Marvel wants to be their headliner, it still can't beat Spiderman even with a big name like Bendis on it. ASM lost 50% readership but it's #2 issue is still in the top 10, right around the same numbers it pulled before SW.

I think the reason ANAD did better than DCYou has to do with EVERYTHING being a #1 again. If DCYou relaunched Batman, Superman, etc then they would have killed the market in June. But DC aren't shills who relaunch every year or two.
>>
>>77345928
Of course he won't leave GotG. How else could he fulfill all of his wishes involving Pryde?
>>
Why do you think DC are doing so badly now? Is it the legacy of the Nu52? Is it because of the DC You approach? Is it because Marvel swamped the market with number 1s and variant covers like they did in the 90s?
>>
>>77345928
only because he will never leave his waifu kitty alone. he doesn't give a shit about anyone but her with that book.
>>
>>77345944
Marvel's relaunches and variants plus hilarious marketing.
>>
>>77345944
>Is it the legacy of the Nu52? Is it because of the DC You approach?
partly. some comic retailers have come and said they were wary about DCYou after being burned by New52. Lot of comic sites also kept questioning if DC was really dedicated to this new launch and that kind of shit can really fuck up ordering.
>Is it because Marvel swamped the market with number 1s and variant covers like they did in the 90s?
absolutely this.

marvel is so fucking lucky they are owned by disney and that their characters are now seen as valuable intellectual property outside of comics. they can do all the stupid shit they pulled in the 90s and not get hit by bankruptcy again because of it.
>>
>>77345950
Although everyone might find it hard to believe, he genuinely cares about Quill as well.
>>
>>77345944
C-lister books, bad marketing, DC lost a lot of their fanbase since Covergence, launching DCYou in the middle of a Marvel event, new fans being inclined to try out Marvel over DC because of the movies etc.

All these things killed DC basically.
>>
>>77345972
Don't forget that the guy who drove Marvel to bankruptcy is now doing the same thing for DC.
>>
>dc fans still in denial about dc being shit
>instead they continue to fabricate boogeymen to defend dc's failure
>>
>>77345944
I think is mostly Marvel crushing it because of a lot of reasons. Secret Wars, Star Wars, constant relaunches, a shit ton of variants and overall more popularity. Convergence didn't help DC a lot either.

I would like to see this all turn around and bite Marvel in the ass like it once did in the 90's, but with the mouse behind them I doubt it.

>>
>>77346318
Or maybe comics collected in that anthology don't appeal to the wider audience. Come on, even Prophet only managed to get around 5k sales.
>>
>>77346157
It's not good because Gwen Is a fucking piece of cardboard who has yet to have any personality that isn't Peter Parker lite and makes jokes even Slott would reject.

As for female characters, it's actually a fairly sexist book. Mary Jane is a raging bitch, Betty is an airhead, and Glory is black sista with a side of anger. Felicia might be interesting but we left her story In the middle and so she's just a Lady Gaga rip off with an extra side of bitch.

The book is just not that good. Sorry.
>>
>>77346019
Heh I am getting the feeling he's not too keen on Kitty and Quill anymore, sure he had her kiss his cheek and flirt with him in the beginning and he approved of Humphries handling their relationship buy in X-Men 600 Colossus asks Kitty if she was going to get married and she was like "We'll see" and Magik wanted Piotr to make a move on Kitty and even between the months gap she still isn't married to him and Bendis said things between her and Quill were rocky (and GotG #1 pretty much confirmed that while they were in good terms they were starting to have problems).
>>
>>77346019
I think you're talking about Humphries, guy mostly handled Kitty nd Peter even when he had Bendis' blessing and he made it cringey and cliche, I honestly think Bendis writes them more like a normal couple but Humphries definitely maked them like what a kid thinks romance is.
>>
>>77345797
>That's what fuckload of variant covers does.
Marvel forcing shops to buy their comics for variants is just messing up the whole system of judging success by issues sold.
I want to know how many buckets of unsold Iron Man #1 vanilla cover will be piling up in shops afterwards.

All it really is, is to show how much they kept pushing variant covers and who knows what else. Was #1 part of some Loot Crate-type deal? Anyone know?

Also this was the sales on Superior Iron Man:

11/14 Sup. Iron Man #1 - 83,994 ( 199.7%)
11/14 Sup. Iron Man #2 - 42,621 ( -49.3%)
12/14 Sup. Iron Man #3 - 38,806 ( -9.0%)
01/15 Sup. Iron Man #4 – 38,515 ( -0,7%)
02/15 Sup. Iron Man #5 – 35,094 ( -8.9%)
03/15 Sup. Iron Man #6 – 37,113 ( +5.8%)
>>
>>77350044
Well it's still too early to say. I'd wait about the fifth issue though since the second issue was out the same month as the first (retailers would've had to make a guess on dropoff) If it wasn't for the variants and other shit the first issue might've just been at 90,000-80,000.
>>
>>77350050
I don't think Disney actually cares that much. It feels like it's the Marvel executives who are behind this kind of thing and foolishly believing that comic fans care that much about movies.
>>
>>77345690
That's really kinda shitty.

Even if it is understandable.

Still Invincible Iron Man is an odd pain to read through, like to some extent I can read through Bendis books, but this one... it's too crap. It's like there isn't enough to grasp enjoyment from.
>>
>>77350089
Well I guess we'll see. I'm thinking the #2 sales are closer to what the actual demand on the book is for the earlier issues and then we'll see the usual larger drops until it settles in around 30k. Of course they will just reboot it again at that point.
>>
>>77350059
Superior Iron Ma wasn't a real reboot, though, it was just a retitling and mini (so it's less of a #1, more of a 1, Invincible is basically a reboot.

but yes, the variants are a big part of it too

>>
>>77350301
You know, I would even dare to say it's a step in the right direction. Ending this honeymoon stage and finally dealing with what a relationship this evolved truly means. Having both characters dealing with the consequences of the fast decisions they made, showing them wondering what exactly they like about each other when the dust settles, having them facing the idea of marriage=having to grow up. It would be the best way to pave the way into their future oversized, 50 variant, marriage issue.
